I like it, I think their revamp was good, but it was a bit too much.

I think that ESC is shying away from the stereotypical theatrical entries. Perhaps, I'm just overthinking this.

I discovered the songs of the first semi yesterday, so I'll give my opinion the Moldovan entry :

After Pasha Parfeny and Aliona Moon, I can say that I loved Moldova thrice in a row. This powerful ballad has an unusual structure and the melody sounds epic. I was pleasantly surprised that it kinda followed the path of "O mie". The singer's voice was insterestingly low and nice, it added some more value to the entry, but I guess they should have stuck to their native language since her English accent was very thick. That was the only drawback I found. Her blue outfit was nice too, she was like a medieval character. The song is definitely a grower, I felt it, so it will be nicely ranked in my personal ranking. Too bad she didn't qualify, I was very surprised since Moldova used to get to the final, and again they deserved to this time. I gladly woud have exchange places with Iceland, for instance.

Anyway, nice job Moldova! I enjoy your song.

Yikes. Totally did not see that coming. I thought after Romania proved us all wrong last year, this would follow a similar trajectory. Guess I was wrong. Honestly, this deserved a better result. The song is pretty awesome.

I think this wasn't really the worst song of the contest, but the performance was indeed very messy and it just left a bad impression. It is also not the type of song that works on the first listening, so the end result is not be surprising.

Hope for something better next year.
