I can't believe after holding a long winded national final and revamping the winning song they still decided to write 9 new songs. 9!!!!!

As from tomorrow, an international jury, made up of representatives of ten countries, along with numerous local experts in Malta, will examine the shortlist of songs to come up with the best possible song and sound to go forward to the Eurovision Song Contest. A spokesperson for PBS has said that the final result will be announced at the end of this process. (Eurovision.tv)
Does that mean we will get to know tomorrow which song she actually will perform?

If this is true, it's going to be pathetic... you know, I've always thought that the problem with Ira Losco was not the song (that I don't like, to tell the truth), but her diva-like attitude. Without any plausible reason she needs a program for herself!!! That's what I call an EGOOOO!! Fly down babe, you're not CHER! I hated when I saw the first rehearsals with the singers singing a snippet of the song, she was the only one NOT to tread the stage. That was such an unfair impression. The only singer having two songs in the NF. And now all this "seemingly spontaneous" parade... it's just not nice at all. Malta, wtf are you doing?

The special international jury is probably all friends of Bjorkman and co
Malta in recent years have done pretty strong with the jury (conspiracy!!!!
) so whatever they pick I expect it will be a jury favorite

Curious to hear the revamped version of Chameleon - and the other songs in question - but really, I feel like the primary issue is Ira herself. Seeing her performance at MESC, she had no real energy, her voice was weak, and she kinda just stood there for the most part. I'd love to see her sing something better, but Chameleon isn't that bad of a song to begin with. Hopefully she's putting a real focus on vocal training now, whatever song they're going with.

I wonder on what bases decisions like these are made. I mean doesn't the singer has to be convinced of the song to be able to give a successful performance? Where is all that confidence gone now, as they are looking for a new song? Didn't they like "Chameleon" in the first place or what made them change their mind? Picking 9 other songs to chose from is just like starting from the beginning.

Up until now, this is actually my favourite song out of all that have been chosen already. Really hope that Malta reaches the final this year after that huge injustice from last year

Will they really change the song or was it a rumour? Whatever the quality of the song, I always thought considering changing a winning entry was unfair when it was part of a national final (Belarus :?), I mean most people vote for a package, not just for a singer. So they can revamp the song, no problem, but picking another one would be a cheap move imo.

It was announced that they will internally select a song from a selection of 10, including Chameleon. Not been keeping up?

I wasn't sure because some people were still talking about Chameleon, didn't know it was still likely to be selected (even though it has very few chances, otherwise they would have kept it right away).
