So my opinion about the past week...
1. Not surprised at all by the winner. It was a foregone conclusion that Ira would get the ticket. As much as I love her, I admit I was underwhelmed by both entries, but that's because I expect so much from her. So do all the Maltese at the end, can't imagine the pressure she must have felt/feel in the coming months. Song needs a bit of editing but that's it. I'd rather work on the staging - unlike last year where the song was revamped yet the staging was dull, and I believe that killed Amber's chances.
2. National final was, as always, unremarkable. One or two standouts. That 'All about that bass' copy was great, but that's what it was - a copy. Brooke had a good entry but I don't quite get it. Ira's other entry was more her style but I doubt it would have gone anywhere had it been selected for Stockholm. I did like Jessika and the other little girl with long curls. That's about it.
HUGE debate these days on social media as apparently the song COULD be changed entirely. Same rule was present last year but no one made an issue about it back then. Makes me wonder what will happen. I personally disagree, don't know how many fingers I pointed at Belarus - so I don't want the other four fingers pointing back at me!
