I'm hoping for an amazing full version from Daniel Testa and Firelight

First of all I must say Malta has muuuch better songs this year. I remember some tedious Maltese NF in the past and this one has many good and decent songs.
For me Daniel Testa's song is the best one and should win, but there are some other strong songs, just no Jessica Muscat, please.

But the problem is Malta usually picks something unexpected that you never thought to be chosen, at least in my case

I agree, sometimes the song that wins is a shock but I knew for the last 2 years who would win.

This year I am going to wait to hear the full versions and then I will make my prediction

I finally get to hear the full version of Miriam Christine's song..

For some reason i'm drawn to this. It may not be the most original song ever but I find it quite touching. It's a simple, soaring piano ballad. If this won I can imagine where they could take this song. To be honest I vision it stripped back. It doesn't need the drums. It needs a really tasteful, sophisticated overhaul. Make it into a chamber pop piece. I would love this to win though. Not too sure i'll get my wish :(

The last three years Malta has been on a major upswing. Barely missing the final in 2011 (11th) and then two qualifications with the latest doing better then the previous. All three were simple upbeat catchy pop songs that were easy to sing along with. They may have been dated but the performers were charming and good enough vocally to overcome that and has been successful so far. If they continue with the formula then they will probably send Daniel Testa xshrug.

I wonder if they will continue with that or possibly go in a different direction with a ballad. Of course I don't want Malta to send the same thing over and over but I do worry and wonder what will happen if they go against the formula. If they send a ballad what will happen xthink.

Malta really has some cool songs! Maybe they aren't the most original of all the songs in the world, but they aren't rubbish, I'm really hearing quality! I'm not sure if a Maltese win is in this batch of songs, but another top ten is possible, It's so nice to see how serious Malta takes ESC

I'm really glad you like this song :D my friend wrote the lyrics, so I'm backing it too! C'MON MIRIAM! xcheerxcheer

As for Daniel Testa... I'm not really keen. Although I like the melody, the production sounds really cheap and it doesn't really go anywhere...

I can understand how Malta reached the top ten this year.
I can also see how they qualified in 2012.
But I honestly can't understand their near-qualification in 2011. Such a bad song!

Malta seem to send quite likable songs, for example this year their song was so happy and up beat. I expected it to do well. Only thing i could pick is that they're safe songs, but then that's not really an issue with me really. If it works why mess with it :D

No, I know that.
I was talking about 2011 in specific though. Such a bad song in my honest opinion, can't believe it was 1 point away from qualifying!

Deborah C has the stand-out song for me. There are a few other good ones, but this is top of the pile as far as I'm concerned.
