I dunno @ ESCPOLAND.. :)

I skipped Miriam Christine, and now I heard it, it's quite nice..becomes a bit boring later..

Oh and Franklin is really nice, butI only can hope he can pull it off live!

So based on snippets in this order:

1. Daniel Testa
2. Franklin
3. Pamela
4. Miriam Christne

I kind of do like Franklin, his delivery appears sincere and for some reason makes me go awww . But I don't know how he would do in ESC. After 2 successful qualifying years is Malta on more people's radar now so they can do a song like this:?

I can name successful female ballads left and right but can barely name any successful male ones outside Johnny Logan, Ireland 1994, Sweden 1995, Norway 2003 and Estonia 2012. Can anyone remember any others they just seem rare:?

Either way I think he's a risk worth taking. :)

Dima won in 2008 with a ballad...It may not be a good one (at least according to a lot of people) but it certainly was successful :)

^^^Oh yeah, for some strange reason I classified it as mid-tempo. I guess its cause of the beats and stuff it didn't feel the same xshrug Franklin is singing a more traditional ESC one

Right, the convo was about successfull male ballads in Eurovision. Like Johnny Logan, Ott Leppland etc.

Wait, I thought you guys were discussing whether a male ballad had the potential to win again? I just meant that tiny Malta won't have the same chances of winning as Russia (even if the entries would have been identical... in fact I don't think Dima with that entry in the same year would have won if he entered another country!).

Johnny Logan was a complete different musical era, and the full-on jury years aswell.

Subtracting all ex-Soviet-votes he would still finish in second place just narrowly behind Greece. And assuming that his fans wouldf supported the entry regardless of the country it represented, he very probably wouldf won for every country including Malta. Back to topic though. :)

Probably in January unless the broadcaster decides to hurry and posts them sooner but looking at previous years we'll have to be patient :D
