After Loreen's double, it's time for a Anne Marie David or Corinne Hermès double, come on Luxembourg, you can do it!

I would absolutely love an Anne Marie David win if the song was as good as her previous entries. And if she's still got it. Her last win was, um, fifty years ago.

One thing is for sure: they used to know how to do Eurovision... And when you do know how to do Eurovision (unless you are Ireland, I guess...) you don't forget how to do it. I wouldn't even be surprised if their comeback will be a Italywise type of comeback, even after the 30 year hiatus, tbh. And, tbh, I hope so...

Their last entry title back in 1993 was translating as "Give me a chance" and I'm ready to give them a chance. Go Luxembourg, surprise us all...

I'm hoping for something like Australia 2015 from them at the very least - a well produced song that says they're back and they're serious about being a part of the event again. Because no matter what they send, they're going to be the thing everyone talks about, so it'd be a shame if they were to send a complete dud.

I am really happy for them coming back!

My dream act for Luxembourg is Rome. It's a fantastic neofolk band.

Hopefully they will select some local act either way.

Italy is more like the exception than the rule though. Most countries have a successful streak that ends in a certain era. I wouldn't be surprised if Luxembourg will struggle like Monaco in the 00s if they don't send an exceptionally good entry. Also we didn't had a french winning entry since they did it the last time (although we should count Amina in 1990...) so they won't have a guarantee to succeed with that formular either. They were successful in much different times and smaller states have a hard time these days.
Nevertheless I hope they'll invest everything in finding that one good song that sends them to the final. It will be interesting how they will position themselves no in the contest since they're a bit of a Carte Blanche like Belgium and Switzerland with their different language backgrounds.

being a small state doesn't have to do with slimmer chances of success. andorra, monaco and montenegro struggled big time, because they sent way-below-average entries, not because their population amounts to 100 persons
In terms of televoting yes. You can easily see how San Marino tried very hard in the past and mostly flopped. Even Malta is struggling these days with it. I cannot see Luxembourg benefitting either from Neighbor or Diaspora-votings-pattern for obvious reason.

Luxembourg has officially like double the population of Iceland and some 100.000 more than Malta, yet we talk about it as if they're like San Marino, Monaco or Andorra. I know it's technically a micro-state in terms of geographical size (which is where our perception comes from no doubt), and obviously it's still a small country in terms of population as well, but both Iceland and Malta have had their "fair" share of fairly successful entries in the televoting era, so I don't see why it should be impossible for Luxembourg?

Luxembourg has big enough population to have homegrown artists.

I do not like it when artists or songs are not from the country they represent.

Its more that the country doesn't have a voting lobby (see CZ), meaning they might have difficulties to struggle. But I guess we'll see it in the future.

Potentially, but depends, I could see France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland potentially forming a pro-Luxembourg "voting lobby", but only time will tell. Obviously there isn't enough Luxembourgish diaspora and that region isn't as strong as Nordics and Balkans when it comes to "helping each other out".
