The more I listen to Saule Riet the more I understand how crap it is. Especially the last minute, where she sounds like she is at a drunken barn dance. Katrine Lukins' song is by far the best, followed by Samanta Tina. Either of those I would be happy with.

I really believe Saule Riet will absolutely win.
I cannot understand the text, but I really like it and the sound is exactly what is pushing and it is the direction many countries shall take / have already taken. i.e. dance-folk with popular classic sound in country style.

All these song are Avicii style which is rocking in the latest months

Why am I not surprised you'd think that?, afterall it's not a wannabe MF or American song in English xshrug

No Olga & Ligo has to be it, would be a real pity if they have this one in the line-up but would go for something bland and safe that might not even make it through to the final xshrug

No need to be like that. So because I don't like your favourite song, it means I have to like the type of songs you mentioned? That is completely garbage and I expect better from you. I like plenty of ethnic, non-English songs but I just don't like this one. What's wrong with that?

The latest I've heard from Latvia is that whereas Pēdējā vēstule and Dejo Tā were the only ones the general public had heard of before the first semi, Saule Riet has now reached into the public mind and is considered second favourite. Can the Latvians of this forum add more input?

Judging by the Internet, the Latvian opinion of Saule Riet is very divided, but any publicity is good publicity and no minus votes can be given. What's worth to remember is that Pēdējā vēstule still is going quite strong. Then again, Latvia's voting result has seemingly made little sense some years, so the winner could be anyone.

I very rarely prefer a song BECAUSE It is in English. As I've said many times before, I put less value on the language of a song than you do. If Saule Riet was in English, I would still hate it.

Not just English but I guess overall you prefer the more, I dunno how to put it, conventional? westernized? ... nah not the right words.

But it's all taste, take what I say with a grain of salt at some times...

And he'll probably win xshrug

I don't understand these acts, cheap sell-outers... deluded crap

I expected more of a reaction to that. come A-Lister, go proper sick and start flipping tables in anger. Then write a sternly worded letter to the Latvian broadcaster for being backwards sell outs.
