I expected more of a reaction to that. come A-Lister, go proper sick and start flipping tables in anger. Then write a sternly worded letter to the Latvian broadcaster for being backwards sell outs.

I told you that he will be more upset if Olga and Ligo stated that!

Well, I don't even root for Dons to win... but since he's probably my second choice (and I sorta expect him to win if the juries won't go all nuts for Katrine or something) then I'll be more loud...

But so far I'm still wishing and praying for a miracle and that we get Olga & Ligo flying the Latvian flag to Copenhagen xcheer

BTW3 In that dress Olga Rajecka reminds me of Dutch woman, she just needs that white cap, wooden clogs and a windmill behind her!

I must say I’m very pleasantly surprised with the high quality of the songs in the Latvian final. For such a bad participating Eurovision nation, they really have a very strong final this year. I didn’t expect that. I like almost every song with a few exceptions.

My favorites for tonight:

- Aarzemnieki – Cake to bake (Such a sweet, fun, catchy and happy song.)
- Dons – Pēdējā vēstule (Such a beautiful song. It could be this year’s “Kuula” if selected for Eurovision.)
- Katrīna Bindere – Moment and tomorrow
- Katrine Lukins – You are the reason
- Markus Riva – Lights on
- Niko – Here I am again (Very good and energetic song. Even better than his entry from last year.)
- Olga & Līgo – Saule riet (Nice song that resembles "Wake me up" by Avicii.)
- Samanta Tina – Stay (Strong song by a good singer who should’ve represented Latvia last year with the beautiful song “I need a hero” instead of the ridiculous “Here we go” by PeR.)

“Revelation” by Ralfs Eilands, Valters Pūce & Nelli Bubujanca is such a hideous and appalling song. I really hate it with a passion. This is without a doubt one of the worst songs of this Eurovision season. Hopefully the Latvians are smart enough not to send them to Eurovision. Ralfs Eilands already had his chance at Eurovision and he completely messed up. After all he is partly responsible for one of the three (!) last places for Latvia in a semi-final since 2009! So he must stay as far away from the Eurovisionstage as possible. Don’t make the same mistake as last year Latvia! Therefore opting for “Revelation” equals to choose again for the last place in the semi-final along with those clowns from Iceland!

Choose wisely and please don’t disappoint me!

Good luck Latvia!

Well not exactly, he's planning on translating so the beauty of the language will be gone xshrug

Well according to some people on other forums Olga doesn't care about Dziesma or Eurovision at all. The only reason she is doing Dziesma in the first place is because she wants people to hear the song. Some say she may refuse to go if they win xshrug

Can you imagine what the reaction would be if Olga & Ligo win and she refuses to go to Eurovision only to be replaced after by Dons and his English song

I doubt she'd turn down the offer if she gets the privilege to win... I mean she's probably not stupid... it would just be turned against her because it'll look like she turned her back on all that supported her.

But that's common though, in MF pretty much the majority enters for the local market, they couldn't care less about ESC (as in fact here MF is bigger than ESC), so if they win it's more of a "bonus" (and even in those cases some acts don't care and all... hence why Swedish ESC entrants barely promoted their entries or done any updates or needed changes for the ESC performance).

What are you talking about? She's been interviewed by ESC sites in the last few days and she hasn't given that impression. She is determined to bring a Latvian language song to Eurovision.

Latvia: Olga Rajecka

Well that article was written 4 days ago so perhaps her attitude has changed recently. Other Latvians online said she was ambivalent towards the whole competition aspect. Maybe she saw the reaction online to the song and its encouraged her xshrug

Oh finally, the light has reaches us mortals.
It'd be awesome to have Olga & Ligo along with Cleo & Donatan

Indeed! These are amongst the names that could save ESC 2014 xcheer

Though my intuition tells me Latvia won't pick Olga & Ligo... you'll see.... xcry

They already sent Latvian, but that time it was such a dreadful song that people forgot about that... obviously traumatized...

This time they got the chance to make things right... Please Latvia, do the right thing here! Olga & Ligo has to go! You'll have to stand out in the toughest semi of them all!

That was 10 years ago, and a lot has happened since then. Personally, I think Dziesma par laimi is average rather than dreadful, but that's another story.
