I think he/she it didn't mean here, but in Latvia, in Latvia it receives many positive comments, but many negative as well!

This is so ridic, as if the others are so darn original? I mean they have a David Lindgren copy and I don't see people complain about that fact xshrug

It does sound very Avicii-ish but genres of music aren't owned by one artist so it's not stealing

My sole issue with Saule Riet sounding like Wake Me Up is that the style was popularized in 2013, and this is 2014. It's no coincidence, it's trying to ride on the waves of that. The song would've been a huge thing in 2013 (before Wake Me Up hit the charts), but now it sounds, in lack of a better expression, "so last season", which both works in favour of it, since the style still is popular, and against it because some people think it's shameless style-copying, not realizing Avicii wasn't the first.

Don't get me wrong, it's the second best song in here and it's not a carbon copy of anything else (see Niko for details). Wouldn't mind it winning, even though it would be a shame to see Dons missing out.
Oh, and when it comes to Niko, I can't listen to his song. Far too close. Saule Riet is nothing compared to the similarity of that.

And the rest of the songs are "so-up-to-date"?

If anything sounds like "last year" in ESC, it's definitely up to date in this context

Olga un Līgo - Saule Riet
In this thread, this candidature is overrated. I just like the movement of skirts. xcrazy

Besides Katrine Lukins, I like Dons...

Actually, I don't have high hopes with Latvia...

The problem with "Saule riet" is the dance part. It has the folky music and they just added the beat there. That sounds weird IMO.

It's not like "Wake me up", where we get a dance motif inspired in the country stuff. But it's a completely dance motif, which sounds more natural.

Anyway, it's a cool song and it would be good to see it in ESC.

Please Latvia choose Olga & Ligo xpray

We need more stuff like this in ESC, and you would make yourself stand out in a very tough semi...

Dons odds have shortened from 1.35 to 1.30. He has to win! I think Latvia chooses the right song this year :)
Markus Riva - ''Lights on'' is also good. Okay, it is very dated, but memorable! One of the few songs I remembered after listening.

I hope Dons won't win, it's insipid and nowhere near as interesting as Olga un Ligo
