I don't think so. Two last contests showed us that if your act is good, you don't need to be ex-Soviet republic ;)

Or - regarding 2014 - if the singer happens to be the only boy in the contest... ;)

This is not exactly related to JESC this year but I was just checking the old voting videos from older JESCs and it seems that since 2013 the votes have been given from the venue and not the ESC way, in other words calling all the countries and receiving the points from there. Why was this changed in 2013? It's quite boring that the kids giving the points are right there where the contest is held.

Don't know that either... maybe it's cheaper?

With today's technology you only need a working internet connection to do it... the reason must be something else.

TVE has announced that Spain will (probably) be back in the contest in 2015, so I could not be happier. I just hope we keep on getting such good results!

Looks like TVE is planning to come back to JESC. That's very bad news :( because:

1- JESC SUCKS.
2- TVE withdrew despite we were top-5 all the four editions we took part because the contest used to give an inappropriate image of the children and they were so right back then.
3- TVE should better focus on real ESC. It's 20 years without a top-5 and 46 since the last time we won. It is true that Eurovision has been unfair and even cruel with Spain and we deserved a bit more, but we still have one of the worst stats at the moment. It's obvious that something must be done.

i think this is the reason we don't take part any more tbh. I don't think the BBC will pick it up because of the image it presents, and the pressure it puts on young children. It was only a week ago a little girl started crying on live television when she failed to make the final of Britains Got Talent. That sort of thing always brings into question of children being on television.

Re: SPAIN 2016

I understand your point of view guys because I didn't feel that comfortable when I watched my first Junior Eurovision Song Contest last year.
Given the fact that there is a lot of assh*les within the social networks to bash countries and candidates concerning the adult version of ESC, I don't want to read the same thing against young children.

They changed that because the spokespersons were called via satellite connections and not per Internet. It was cheaper to bring them to the venue

Still wonder if we will participate, neither SR or SVT has mentioned anything about this competition since January.

Maybe SVT want to have all focus on the upcoming ESC 2016 instead

What a shame it would be if the only Nordic country is out :(
