That doesn't mean Portugal is sucking up to Italy though. I guess people here just like the Italian songs, which is not something out of the ordinary

Most of the songs that Italy sent were really nothing special and just the same formula again and again. How much I know, most italian ESC entries aren't even remebered in Italy. I just get annoyed when the juries in my country vote for them by deafult.


Anyway, Sweden & Cyprus withdrew from JESC. SO no nordic countries this year

told you we would withdraw. I guess our two latest scores in 2013 and 2014 together with the win in ESC this year is the main reason. Especially since we had a jury selecting the winning song in both 2013 and 2014.

Under SVT, we have managed a good placing only ONCE, in 2012 when we came 6th. So I´m not surprised at all that we withdraw. (Under TV4 we came 3rd, 8th and 6th)

How Many countries have confirmed their participation in Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 by now?

- officially, by far, nine countries, and there are around five to sign the application before the deadline. However, I am going to give a extra time for some countries, since the summer vacation means that many people "lose" a couple of months of preparation and planning.

That would give us 14 countries this year, which is a good number.
