It also appears some countries have backed out!. I wonder who?

and it's not that non European countries will join. (Afterall, with israel not in JESC there's nothing stopping arab countries debuting there.) I am interested in seeing which countries have non EBU member channels which are interested in joining.

I´m too wondering which countries who has backed out.

One of those commerical tv-stations that could be interested is TV2 in

I was wondering maybe Channel 5 in :uk: ? but I'm not that sure. I would imagine Scandinavian broadcasters would be interested, maybe in Spain and Germany as well.

I don't think this is something that the C5 would be interested in, is it? Then again maybe it could get good ratings for them.

No it's not really something they do. :/ I don't see why they wont attempt it for a couple years to help maximize ratings.

We kind of already knew that. We was told there were 15 confirmations, and the Slovenia was the latest one to confirm making it 15. (however apparently some have withdrawn since then.)

There hasn't been any news about :ru: Russia for quite a while now, does anyone know anything about their participation?

So it's Portugal. I was expecting Slovenia or something. Portugal hasn't surprised me though. It is implied that more than one will no longer compete.

On twitter someone asked the JESC twitter "People say that Spain finally participate in JESC with a private tv, it is true?. Greetings." and received the response "we're in negotiations..." which suggests that there could be a possible return for :es: Spain.

Great news in that case, :es: participated in JESC 2003-2006 and their most bad result is 4th place in 2006

I've barely heard any songs (not that into jESC), but I kinda like the Belarussian entry and thumbs up for sending a song in Belarussian for a change!
