I'm on my first run listening to the official CD - I can't hear a difference to the original studio version?

Didn't she say that there would be a slight revamp for the entry?

the revamp being cutting a part of the song to fit in the 3 minute limit

Ah, I see! - As a non-native speaker of Italian (+ someone who tried to not massively listen to the ESC songs before the CD), I didn't even realise any changes... that's good, though?
The song's exactly 3 min at length now, though.

Thx for the fast reply ;)

On web it's circulating the news that Croatia Switzerland and even Greece are getting ready for a possible hosting 🤣
Isn't a bit too early?
We Italians know what happened in 2017 when Gabbani was given as a certain winner.
In italian we say Non dire gatto se non c'è l'hai nel sacco
Or Don't count your chickens before they are hatching.

These countries are probably exploring what they will get themselves into if they do win and what plans need to be drawn up. Not every country has a standard infrastructure for large events and you want to be able to move quickly as you only have a year. Setting up the contingency is simply a good idea, you don't want to sit there in May with a stage that malfunctions for instance.

I was about to write the same thing! It's something that happens frequently when a country's entry has favourable odds. I remember that in 2019 the Netherlands gave their availability to host for the following year days before ESC had taken place, since Duncan was a heavy favourite for the title. Not to mention Netta saying "See you in Jerusalem next year" just after winning.

You can have problems even if you prepare and plan everything before winning, just to say.
It's a bit strange to me because Greece isn't even in top 5 with the predictions, and Croatia and Switzerland don't have huge margins.
Switzerland 2021 was first in the odds for a long time and we know how it finished.
I mean better being an underdog sometimes.
Anyway was just a reflection. Since Angelina is 3rd in the odds and well placed in all the polls I've never heard news about possible hosting in Italy, or maybe I'm wrong. At least the TV news or newspapers never touched this argument.

It hasn't been touched upon in the Netherlands either as far as I know, but I mean both Italy and the Netherlands hosted a short while ago and it went well so we can just sort of do the same thing as last time from an organizational perspective. There is literally no news to speak of.

But yeah just saying, you sounded as though you were criticizing them for arrogance, but that's a very negative view I feel. I now assume you meant this more jokingly.

I wasn't thinking at all them being arrogant at all. Just joking and being ironic because as I said we had a similar situation in 2017 and everyone was talking about where hosting in Italy.
Being Mediterranean I'm a bit superstitious.
Our commentators during the memorable 2021 edition were repeating regarding a Maneskin win during the voting process "It will not happen, but if it happens.... "

Three more Sanremo 2024 entries certified Platinum this week:
Loredana Bertè - Pazza
Clara - Diamanti grezzi
Ricchi & Poveri - Ma non tutta la vita
(y)

It's also official that Amadeus will be leaving RAI once his contract expires in June, because he would like to do something different after hosting Sanremo for 5 consecutive years. I don't expect the next festivals to be as competitive... we'll see.

Does Amadeus want to present ESC 2025 if Angelina wins? xthink

The only thing I fear is his rivalry with Salieri!:LOL:

Well, regarding that, it's not that we are sure for our win and we started preparing the venue. The mayor of Athens was asked in an interview about Marina and if Athens can host Eurovision and he said something like "Of course, should Marina win, we will make the best event ever". Fun fact, the municipality of Athens does not have any venue that could host Eurovision, they are outside the centre of Athens, where the mayors are different. :ROFLMAO:

Sometimes it's better to avoid stupid questions. The Mayer is a politician. His answer was obvious and pompous.

I don't think he considered the idea back in 2022 because he isn't fluent in English, so I don't expect he will put himself forward for the job. Besides, he is rumoured to be in talks with another broadcaster for the future.

About Angelina winning, I have doubts on it for different reasons (the song might not be liked, we don't know the RO, our female singers at ESC tend to fare less well, 2025 will be a Jubilee year with implications for resources and broadcasting, another hosting wouldn't be wise and so on).

Amadeus has signed with La9. As Fabio Fazio did.
About winning I'm not even thinking about it but just to explain. It is not Rai that invests on Angelina, all the preparties costs were held by the discographic label. So if her maneger and team do a great job with the staging Angelina has her chances and Rai couldn't do anything to avoid her possibly winning. So the italian Hod is going to contact the juries and make them not voting Italy? The Jalisse case isn't happening again
Yes next year the Christian Jubilee is going to be held mostly in Rome but other cities have possibilities to host,
Milano and Bologna, and they aren't involved with the Jubilee.

Yes, I kept my list of factors short so I didn't elaborate, what I meant wasn't referring to Rome as host city specifically, but to the duties to hold and broadcast the Jubilee-related events, which will inevitably put pressure on the budget and drain the broadcaster's resources and personnel from other projects.
