Sanremo 2021: Vote for YOUR favourite!

Loro non sanno di che parlo
Voi siete sporchi, fra’, di fango
Giallo di siga’ fra le dita
Io con la siga’ camminando
Scusami, ma ci credo tanto
Che posso fare questo salto
Anche se la strada è in salita
Per questo ora mi sto allenando

E buonasera signore e signori
Fuori gli attori
Vi conviene toccarvi i coglioni
Vi conviene stare zitti e buoni
Qui la gente è strana, tipo spacciatori
Troppe notti stavo chiuso fuori
Mo’ li prendo a calci, ‘sti portoni
Sguardo in alto, tipo scalatori

No

Io ho scritto pagine e pagine
Ho visto sale, poi lacrime
Questi uomini in macchina

Tu portami dove sto a galla
Che qui mi manca l’aria
E parla la gente, purtroppo
Parla, non sa di che cosa parla
Tu portami dove sto a galla
Che qui mi manca l’aria
Parla la gente, purtroppo
Parla, non sa di che cazzo parla
Tu portami dove sto a galla

The first impression has to come here obviously, the others will follow shortly.

Congratulations :it: on a well-deserved victory. I didn't think this song can win before, even though it was one of my favorites and easily one of the best :it: entries ever for me from the moment I heard it. But seeing the performance sealed the deal.

I am delighted with this outcome and even more delighted that, after Lordi, we finally have another rock song winning xmetal :it: deserved to win earlier, but I'm glad they did it now and with this song. Best winners in a while for me.

I am very interested in going to :it: next year and I will do my best to prepare and make it happen.

Until then - Rock'n'roll never dies! xmetal xmetal xmetal

Full video it is obvious he wasn't taking drugs.

He was leaning his head in between his fists celebrating the televote and WHILE TALKING SIMULTANEOSLY TO A 60 YRS OLD MEMBER OF THE DELEGATION.

Yeah, it's so ridiculous that people would see this, him simply looking down at the floor (at the glass Thomas smashed), and say that 'Oh, oh! He must be doing drugs!' It's malicious and mean-spirited, and it takes away from their victory, which they don't deserve.
And the fact that he now has to take a drug test to prove these people wrong–people who apparently can't use their eyes—is ludicrous.

Shame on everyone who contributed to this ill-intended lie. He does not deserve this.
It's the lyrics of their winning song coming to life. People talk, but they don't know what they are talking about.

Not wanting to dance anymore, but I must dance
What a rollercoaster ride! I'm so happy for them, for my first favorite winning since I've started watching Eurovision, for a rock song winning, just....SO HAPPY! This was absolutely overdue for Italy! xmetal

I also can't believe Damiano is getting his reputation dragged through the mud by some idiot trolls when the footage is so obvious; was he doing invisible drugs balanced between his knees while his hands were fists?! :cautious: Some haters have nothing better to do, I swear...

I am very glad that you are on the forum again. xlove It upset me that you left then.

Recently, there was not enough of me on the forum, I just did not have time to go here too, but I want to say that I followed the voting with bated breath, at some point I was already sure that Switzerland would win and almost burst into tears. But Maneskin still won and it was happiness. My girlfriend and I drank to their victory.

All this time we worried about them, because there was no interview for a long time, there was little information, and there was a lot of nasty things and even slander on the Internet. But they got their well-deserved victory.
And I hate the people who tried to darken her with this vile accusation of drug addiction.

I loved the way Damiano shouted "rock is alive!" And then they went drinking with the guys from Finland. xheart
And how the whole group hugged! And Ethan is shocked, poor. And then Ethan catches Damiano and hug him. Damiano rolls Victoria on his back. Kisses Thomas.
Oh, they care so much about each other. Such good guys.

Good morning Remisan 😊, some time ago I preferred to move away because I saw that users like Mauve were suffering from the hostile climate that had been created. Every day I saw harsh words flying about Italy and I responded by arguing. I wanted to foolishly try to open a dialogue but some eurofans did not want this but only bring out their blind hatred... In the end, I had contented myself with silencing or bile-eating the haters with unassailable logic 🧐😄

Maybe I misread Mauve's words or my English is "rusty" but she had already suffered a major loss and she goes to this forum to relax. Then I saw you, Remisan, and others scrambling to try to answer but at the same time restore order. I felt guilty 😟😔 It was me and my resistance to these haters that fueled the fire. The only remedy was to leave and allow you to live this daily leisure with serenity.

I only returned on the eve of the ESC and I am happy to have found you friends to welcome me 🙏😘

It was an exciting and exhausting marathon. A painful victory. This year there were several favorites to win and the values of the other songs were not low. Perhaps it was this climate of uncertainty, combined with the fact that Switzerland and France would have hindered each other with televoting, which allowed Italy to win.

I don't care about the Maneskin allegations anymore. I smile only to always see harsh words towards Italy and the double disappointment in seeing us get good results. I still wonder what guilt we are guilty of. But we are talking about a minority that is now sadly silent and good! 🤫😄

The real reward was hearing the words of our rockers who said they met extraordinary people and made some beautiful friends (including Blind Channel). The ESC is also this: to allow distant artists to get to know each other and, who knows, in the future also collaborate together ✌️

Thank you for the kind words and for my support from Ukraine ❤️ The victory is not only ours but also of the public who voted for us ❤️ Next year I hope you will bring strong representatives like Go_A and come to Italy to compete for the top prize 💪😎 We are waiting for you with open arms! I forgot ... this year everyone go on a diet! In Italy we will eat until we burst! 😋 Dr. Nowzaradan will have a lot to do after ESC 2022 ends 😆🤣😆🤣

You have always been a very valuable member. Your education and experience are valuable to the forum. My grandmother always said "Don't look at what's bad in the world. See what's beautiful and if you're lucky enough to find worthy people along your journey, take inspiration from them." This puppy, along with other users, made me feel less alone when things were bad for Italy. Thank you, Mauve xkissand ... I hope that Germany can really get back into good positions. It saddens me to see that the German public, which fervently follows the ESC, has lately been disregarded. Anyway, I say that Jendrik deserved more. My mom loved the colorful and joyful performance of himxheya
Your grandma is a lady full of wisdom! I also try to be optimistic despite the bad things that's keeping us captivated. Not an easy task, but I try to do as good as I can. That's also a reason why I rather support fantastic artists at ESC instead of bashing the ones I don't like. Yes, of course, I give my opinions, but (mostly hopefully) in a respectful way.
I also hope that Germany might come back stronger next year .... but hopefully not taking a generic song (that's what I am afraid of), but something like in our NF 2018 Lily among the clouds. I loved that entry. I am looking forward to next year!
Until then, I will celebrate Maneskin and their stunning song! xheart

xshockYou wanted to stay away??? I didn't get that anymore becasue the next time I came back, the thread was away.

Yes, my dad passed away last year, but I am not here to "relax". ESC is something where there will ALWAYS be tensions, different opinions, arguments. I KNOW this. And it's a part of ESC. What I really don't like is "hateful" comments or disrespectful posts - some do it here on the forum. This year Italy being on attack, Germany, Norway what I can think of. But people are like this and I KNOW this. But I LOVE being here. People like you make this place so much better. And I started to like some new members like @Remisan who argues fair and without disrespect.
So Lovecraft, don't you dare to quit again! IOTAPxangryxrunhug

The biggest Polish newspaper claims that 'The music beat the circus'. This is disrespectful both towards the Eurovision and even to Måneskin. I guess someone who wrote this article is completely out of touch with reality, these are not 00s anymore, lol.

Even among my friends many still have this idea of ESC being a "circus" unfortunately. ESC moved on and there are enough "serious" songs with high quality. And the "circus" songs - funny quirky ones - will always be a part, but they can still be a quality song.

I believe that from this edition the ESC has taken the right step to remove the unfair nickname of "circus". I have seen courage this year: different genres, use of native languages and greater competitiveness.

Regarding Germany, apart from classical music, there are genres where you have been and are very strong: Rock, Heavy Metal and electronic music. Why not trust these genres? Why not show an important language like yours? It is possible that the experiment will not succeed immediately (for example, Denmark did not make it to the final) but with planning you can manage to surprise again!

Then ... I add that the "German school" Rap is growing. You can offer much more than you think! 💪

It's the same here, and possibly worse - check for yourself in this article (link), google translate is surprisingly accurate though its perhaps still slightly less insulting in English. And this view, as out of touch with reality as it is, is the absolute mainstream view of Eurovision here. There's also been other articles in other influential newspapers demanding we immediately stop supporting similar "crimes against culture" with our public funding. From people who didn't even bother watching. Disgusting.

But one thing has changed this year (this was also case after Salvador won, but wasn't as strong) - in the discussion section, besides the usual stupid "jokes" à la "well you'd need to be on drugs anyway to be willingly watching something as bad as Eurovision", there's quite a few strongly upvoted comments along the lines of "you know what? That winner song is actually an absolute killer, I love it!"

And that's something I am very grateful for, because whenever I'd opened such discussions before, it was just the jokes and very offensive insults. Thank you, Italy.

A HUGE congratulations to Italy and Måneskin on bringing in the victory. Personally got my votes and was ecstatic to finally see Italy crowned the winners - many years you have deserved the title and you got it at last! On the whole 'scandal' - we still have a huge way to go in our response and attitude to how we continually disregard people's mental health and well being just because they are on the stage and under the limelight. I can't imagine how saddening these accusations would have been. Still - you guys ROCK. Enjoy the victory everyone :giggle:

Lovely to see you back! :-)

I agree, I think this year has been a great step. I had friends visit for the finals (we had also watched Sanremo together so they had known and loved Måneskin from before already, but they'd never seen Eurovision live before) and they were almost jokingly disappointed - "we came expecting loads of really bizarre extravaganza but it almost wasn't there...").

Anyway, as much as I personally loved Voilà, I believe Zitti e Buoni is perhaps the most accessible winner for our (usually rock-appreciative) public since Euphoria, definitely a great step in the direction I'd love Eurovision to take. So I am very happy with this result :)

Escunited is such a peaceful forum with very little drama. It’s easy to coexist on this forum with your haters. I know I got em, but we interact very little and I am living my best social media life on this forum. So, quitting is not an option unless you are a dramaqueen. 😂

A bit late with my impressions, but nevertheless want to share them... During the whole Eurovision season, I had the feeling that Switzerland will be the winner, but during the last week the feeling slightly changed to Italy (And fortunatelly wasn´t wrong although Switzerland being also in my top 10 :-) )

As someone who loves Rock music, it is great to see a rock song winning Eurovision again after 15 years, performed by an authentic band like Maneskin for sure are. Also some friends of mine, who are in rock music but usually don´t watch Eurovision feel in love with "Zitti e Buoni" and added the song to their playlists.

Also it is great for Italy, after their comeback in 2011 they kept sending great songs every year like Fai Rumore, Occidentali´s Karma, Non mi aveto fatto niente, .... and finally earned, what they deserved :-)

So already looking forward to go to Italy next year for Eurovision 2022, looking forward to meet some of you there

These data are from before/during the GFinal and I think they reflect the sentiment for Zitti e Buoni going into the televote...

Spotify - VIRAL 50 - (05/22/2021)

Spotify - TOP 200 - (05/22/2021)

Ukraine, Finland, France and -to a lesser extent- Switzerland and Lithuania, were doing more or less well too and it showed in the points. It seems Malta was the only "fav" act to not see its presence in the chart reflect in the actual votes...
