Sanremo 2021: Vote for YOUR favourite!

Loro non sanno di che parlo
Voi siete sporchi, fra’, di fango
Giallo di siga’ fra le dita
Io con la siga’ camminando
Scusami, ma ci credo tanto
Che posso fare questo salto
Anche se la strada è in salita
Per questo ora mi sto allenando

E buonasera signore e signori
Fuori gli attori
Vi conviene toccarvi i coglioni
Vi conviene stare zitti e buoni
Qui la gente è strana, tipo spacciatori
Troppe notti stavo chiuso fuori
Mo’ li prendo a calci, ‘sti portoni
Sguardo in alto, tipo scalatori

No

Io ho scritto pagine e pagine
Ho visto sale, poi lacrime
Questi uomini in macchina

Tu portami dove sto a galla
Che qui mi manca l’aria
E parla la gente, purtroppo
Parla, non sa di che cosa parla
Tu portami dove sto a galla
Che qui mi manca l’aria
Parla la gente, purtroppo
Parla, non sa di che cazzo parla
Tu portami dove sto a galla

This kind of song is not my jam, and that should come as no major surprise to anyone that knows what I like. But it's okay, I can listen to it on Spotify without having to skip, and I even enjoy some of the guitar riffs. Out of this and Finland (which in my head is the other real popular rock entry in many rankings that I'm seeing) I'd much rather have this one higher in the ranking as it feels a bit more authentic. Finland gives me mid-00s car racing/crash game vibes (like Burnout) that is fairly generic by those standards (to my ears anyway) whereas Italy is serving more of a country-tinged vibe that's a bit more raw and genuine.

:5: for effort but I don't think it's winning this year.

Italy overtook Iceland in Betting Odds. Current status: fifth position.
I think we'll hang around 4-5 place for the next two months. Maybe things could change during the rehearsals. I think, as I've said before, their staging will improve a lot because of the different possibilities the Arena offers.
Obviously I'm not saying they re going to win. But at this point, analyzing all the actual top five, most of them emotional ballads or slow rhythm songs, they could stand out with an energy-superelectric staging.
And someone could come from the behind lines, there are a lot of options.

Both for the Giovani/Nuove Proposte and the Big artists, snippets are forbidden; it's why Fedez landed in hot water and nearly got himself and Francesca Michielin disqualified this year after posting an Instagram story that had a snippet of Chiamame per nome. The press can publish their first impressions of the performances and the lyrics of the songs can be posted, but that's it.

By the time the Artistic Director and their commission invite artists to take part, the finalized versions of the songs are ready. In the time between, they have plenty of time to film a music video, and yeah, pretty much after their first performances of the songs, the promotions begin for the song (which is usually a tie-in for an album release or a Sanremo repackage, which is just the previous album, but with their Sanremo songs as a bonus).

Thank you for guiding us through this xclap, so it works pretty much as I understood already but I wasn't fully sure.

I believe we can reach the fourth position and at the most, we will alternate places with France in third position xthink

The staging of the Maneskin then is a much simpler subject than what is believed. The atmosphere of the Hard Rock is spartan, at the limit you will opt for a dark red or dark gray park color. The clothing of our singers will be pure rockers or they will follow the example of the video e and will present themselves in a jacket and tie model "Beatles possessed by the Devil" xleftAnyway, do you know where the strength of the Maneskin is? Not only in the song and not only in these small choices but in something that will make them evergreen and dangerous: the interpretation on stage xmetal Only Barbara Pravi and her ballad will be able to arouse the same piercing emotions.

Although we, along with France, have the best song, Nudiecrudi don't believe in victory xqueenbitch I hope so but it will not be easy. Between haters and subtly overrated songs like Bulgaria, Switzerland or even Azerbaijan (which has recycled sounds, sings and choices of "Cleopatra"), we can aim for the "Top 10". I'm not sure I'll even win the match against Finland because, it's true that we have a stronger song, but all the Nordic peoples will prefer us or them? They give us 5 points? They will give them 7 xshrug Apparently, as much as I like "Dark Side", we are facing the new "Lordi" xshrug It is a North-East compass oriented game, the sooner we understand it and the sooner we will have the soul in peace xqueenbitch What gives me satisfaction is to see, year after year, our detractors corrode. Even if they win or keep us behind in the ranking, they will always have the anguish of seeing us competitive xangry Do you want proof? Look at the messages and views obtained each year by the Italy thread and see how insults rain every year xshrug I am happy though that not all users are like that. There are not a few who sincerely appreciate us xhug: these are true music lovers and by "true music lovers" I do not intend to give top votes to Italy but to be objective in their judgments xclap

I'm sorry, Mauve ... I couldn't hold back my "Ars Oratoria" xrofl

It's out:

they cut a bit of the intro and censored a few words. Still no orchestra
Only 18 seconds of song needed to be cut. Anyway, that's not bad. We hope they improve it a little more. Also ... I did not think that in Europe they were so bigoted ... if the harsh words were said on the stage of Sanremo which is the most politically correct and theatrical stage, why is it not possible to say them on the ESC stage? I'd like to ask A-lister if he thinks we're still "conservative".

To be honest, the edit is barely noticeable, which is actually good.
The way they edited "Soldi" was awkward and I remember people complaining about Francesco's song too.

By the way, the song is climbing up my personal ranking, at least I am putting it in my playlist for now and wouldn't mind if the song comes up.

Nice cut, did not notice anything missing except coglioni:ROFLMAO::cry:
But no orchestraxcry
"Coglioni" was the icing on the cake  Today all styles must conform to Pop xgaah Apart from this word, music must be free to express itself and have no stakes. This is my opinion.

We hope that on the ESC stage the Maneskins can surprise us xmetal

Do we want to write a letter to the ESC organizers?

The points to be discussed are:

1) We want the orchestra like Sanremo.

2) We want the evening of the covers like Sanremo.

3) We want the lights and graphics of Sanremo. But we don't want the audio of the 2021 Edition ... it was bad! xwall

It would be an even better ESC xhug

I revisited "Zitti e buoni" a week after I last listened to it. It's actually strange because I didn't remember it (other than that I liked it). The good news is that I still like it and like it more than I thought. The bad news is that I now know why I don't like it more and why I rank it fairly lowish on my ranking.

The problem for me lies in that the catchiest part of the song is the chorus, in a song that suffers from GreatVersesShitChorus syndrome. All I can remember is the repetitive, aggressive and noisy lines that makes up the worst part of the song.

It's a pity because the rest of the composition is solid (that middle-8 is sex on legs) and Måneskin are excellent performers who evoke power and rebelliousness through their very being. Before assaulting it with that texan chainsaw massacre of a chorus, that is. Oh well.

I'm sticking with my appreciative :7:

And I know the arte di ascoltare! :ROFLMAO:
The art of listening is much more important than the art of knowing how to speak. The listener understands meanings and emotions without getting caught up in impulsiveness and consequently relates better to others and when he/she speaks he/she does so in a direct and not dispersive way. This does you honor, Mauve. For me you are the EscYOUnited Kanzler xbowxlove

Excellent and balanced analysis.

Chorus has its own explanations:

1) As you noticed, this chorus stays in your mind. When a chorus has such power it means it is doing its job. The chorus is the "heartbeat" of the song: here lies the summary and the power of the meaning.

2) The "shouted" chorus comes after the "spoken" verses. I think this choice reflects the same title "Zitti e buoni. Hard Rock is anger. After all the complex words, after all the anguish, after all the thoughts, there is the emotional rush, the liberating scream. To let off steam is the desire to empty one's baggage of worries, a way to react and start over. This is my humble opinion.

Me and all the Italians of the thread (the group of eurofans called "Carbønåra" - we took inspiration from the Måneskin xmetal), we thank you for the :7: :gimmefive:

I am not sure you got my point about "conservative" even
