I'm in love with everything about this song. I liked it from the first listen, and I've been listening to it some 20 times a day since then.
When I'm not listening to it, I'm singing it. Mostly in giberish, but singing it.
I have yet to learn all the lyrics.
I think the song will do great in Eurovision. It's my favourite song so far and it will be hard to take it off that throne. I really enjoy songs of this type. I am so happy for Mahmood, as if he was representing my country. I've never been this genuinely happy about someone's win. It's significant for so many reasons. Ultimo's song was good, but boring-ish. Not memorable enough. I'm struggling to remember the chorus at this very moment. Every time he came on stage and started singing the chorus, I was thinking: "oh right, that's what that song sounds like." Besides that, he bashed the reporters and the jury after the final, that was very unprofessional and childish. If you don't know how to lose, you don't deserve to win.
Mahmood has great lyrics, great production and arrangement, and he delivers the song with great confidence. I love the moves and the sharp look he gives to the camera. And you just can't help but remember at least that "soldiiii, soldiiii" part. And the fact that he was so modest, humble after they announced his victory makes him a winner in every sense of that word.
P.S. The reason for low public vote, I believe, is current Italian political climate. It's has nothing to do with the song itself. Large majority of the negative comments are attacking the artist and what he is, which is really sad. And that is also the reason for that great difference in the jury and the public vote.
