It's strange though because the official Eurovision website does have an article up about Mahmood. It went up pretty much after the moment he won.

IF he somehow declines this, you'd think those in charge would avoid Ultimo after his outburst. I don't speak Italian so it's hard for me to know exactly what his attitude was like but it just seems like he's been a really bad loser, and you don't reward people like that.

he gave the news on sanremo, but he did not include the video on youtube which confirms his participation in eurovison.

I can't with this "bad loser" attitude some participants have tbh. Nek threw some shade at Il Volo back in 2015 and now Ultimo is being rude to the entire world for placing second while many other artists wouldn't even dream of such an achievement.

When you enter San Remo, you consent to be judged according to the rules because it's a competition at the end of the day. What's the point of expressly and publicly showing bitterness like that. He should be grateful the public is behind him big time already, he even got a prize for "most streamed song" of this edition.

For someone so young with a short career, such a behaviour is really off-putting imo.

Ultimo is pissed because he won the televote, while Mahmood only got like 14,1%. Quite understandable, frankly. It does seem fishy how the juries massively favored Mahmood.

Yes, what should the LEGEND do, she even wasn't at that conference where she should have been 101 %! ;)

Well he said yes at the press conference yesterday night. But it was before seeing the uproar around his victory...
:?

Re : Ultimo.
I agree. I love his song but his behaviour is so immature. He doesn't deserve to go to Eurovision.

Does that justify making barbed comments about the winner or journalists during a press conference? That's highly debatable imo.

In the Superfinal Mahmood got 20,95% at the televote.
I think 14,1% is the average Televoting of all 5 Nights + Superfinal
There's a lot of confusion because there's too much aggregated datas to rule in

About the controversy going on, Mahmood officially accepted yesterday. Unless there's some clear new statement, I think this won't change. It's what I hope.

It's weird because there was something about Ultimo himself that was putting me off his song when I was trying to get into it. I appreciated the melody of the chorus but I wasn't connecting with the artist. His voice wasn't reaching me and somehow I just wasn't feeling him at all. Now it all is making sense as to why I felt that way. Some people just give off a vibe.

I really don't like Il Volo, but placing them the last, was way too mean from that experts jury!

Ok, ok, I admit I payed them to bury them...

I really don't understand where this discussion is coming from. Did someone read that he would withdraw? Even if he would, I doubt that Ultimo would take his place after all the fuss. And I am not certain if all the hate here is justified. I can understand Ultimo's disppointment. And I don't know iwhat he said on the press conference. All I know was he said smth aginst the Juries. And on that aspect I consent with him.

Tumblr, mostly.
I l listened to "Soldi" again. and again. and again. and again. Cried every single time. Every millisecond of that song is pure unfiltered realness of having to deal with shitty parents and it resonates with me. What's happening to me????

I swear to Björk, if Ultimo SUCCEEDS in bullying Mahmood off Eurovision, Italy will be DEAD LAST on any ranking I'll ever make of this year. Ugly song, Uglier hair, UGLIEST attitude fuck off 5EVER!!!

but only if he succeeds :)

Well actually I really underestimated this after the first listening! I really like it, especially the clapping part :) Vocals are great and the song has a nice melody... I think I'm upgrading from 7 to 10 points for now...

And I think it's quite a fresh victory for Sanremo, Ultimo would have somehow been too much like Marco Mengoni and stuff like that...

Welcome to the club. :D I'm singing that song in the car on my way to work (the radio in the car isn't working, I'm my own radio lol), listening to it on repeat while working, singing it on my way from work to home, listening to it and singing it at home... it's madness. :D :D But I like it. :D
