I'll keep my fingers crossed
I'd really like to see the RAI making a good show after the disaster of the '91

Oh yes, RAI really needs to redeem themselves when it comes to hosting!

The whole organization, for example  They had to organize the whole thing in a few months because they firstly wanted to organize it in Sanremo, then they decided to move it all to Rome because of the Gulf War.

The Kolors singing a bilingual song would have an excellent chance of winning Eurovision 2016 in my opinion.

Well, Carlo Conti said he wants them for the next Sanremo, but he also said he knows they only sing in English.

The Italian music scene is amazing and I'm pretty sure that in the next few years Italy will win. I can say I've enjoyed all the Italian entries since your return!

That's absolutely true! There are plenty talented, unique Italian artists, although they are not that popular concerning the international charts... (compared to Sweden, for example) But anyway, the Italian music scene definitely is my favorite European music scene after the Scandinavian one!

The whole show used to be available on YouTube with commentary by Terry Wogan but I think this video was removed. Too bad, it was quite entertaining.

Maybe Italy really should have won this year. Instead of the thread about Björkman ruining the contest, we would have a thread about RAI organizing it. ;)

Hey, I'm not hating Italy.
I'm just amused by RAI's hosting in 1991. That's not a bad thing because it's an entertainment show. It was meant to make people laugh, wasn't it?

Tbh I think both contests were really poor, if we're talking about hosting. Anyway, I'm glad that :at: had a opportunity to do it and I hope :it: will get another soon ;)

Annalisa is really back on top form with Splende and Vincero.I was a bit worried last summer with songs like L'Ultimo Addio and Sento solo il presente that Warner were giving her songs far too lightweight, and to be blunt poor for her.She was superb at Sanremo though and her RadioItalia live concert and is back to her best again.
She is easily my favourite Italian artist (though Malika Ayane is probably the most talented Italian singer),and id love to see her at ESC.If RAI use Sanremo again though that might never happen. There is also the fact even if they selected outside SR, Arisa might be ahead of Nali due to her RAI connections. It might come down to if Warner think Nali would be more likely to do well in Europe (she would).

Have our Italian friends heard anything more from RAI about SR,and if the ESC entry is coming from there?,

No news yet, though it seems very unlikely that either Annalisa or Arisa will be taking the ESC stage next year (the first won't have a new album to promote, the second told the press that she needs a pause from the business). The SR formula has been quite successful with Mengoni and il Volo so I can't see any alternative at the moment. We have to wait until Christmas, when the participants of next SR will be revealed, to understand what the majors are up to.

Yes agree.Alessandra Amoroso could be interesting.I know she hasnt done a lot this year and has faded from view a bit but didnt she have a throat operation earlier in the year?.I thought she was back to her best in the Radio Italia concert below.Surely she must be at SR next year having missed out so often?

This years SR was so strong it will be very hard to follow up next year IMO.Conti packed it with for me the best artists in Italy,so he might of left next years a bit short.Time will tell.
