I loved Per Sempre like many people here but let's face facts, they're going for instant appeal and I believe this song will be an instant hit with the general public. Looks to me as if Italy are determined to win which can only be a good thing.

But in general I do not care, I love both equally strong songs and listen to them constantly humming and, more importantly, that Italy entered the top 5

Re: ITALY 2012 - Nina Zilli - L'amore è femmina

If there is still no news, I think we can safely assume that the Italian team sticks with the new choice, L'amora è femmina.

Just a quick look at the Youtube view numbers (at this moment, March 20)

Per Sempre in just one month:
-first video: more than 1.15 Million views
-second video: 997.000 views
-third video: 761.000 views

L'amora è femmina in one month:
-first video: less than 100.000 views
-second video: 32.000 views

That should be a warning sign for the Italians.

Per Sempre was featured in San Remo and has already been a hit single in Italy. It was also originally announced as Italy's ESC entry.

L'Amore e femmina is an album track with no video or live performance to go with it. It has briefly been declared as Italy's entry and was chosen after Per Sempre. Most people who viewed it because it's an ESC entry have probably also previously viewed Per Sempre for the same reason.

There's your explanation.

Italy have submitted a bilingual version of their song where English makes up ~60% of the song.

Their preview video with that version should be up on the official Youtube channel soon - the video is just her singing in the studio apparently.

Not so strange: we can't vote for our own song, so no use in making it understandable to italians.

But the song is suppose to represent Italy, not the UK... so strange indeed (if you believe in the concept of EUROvision that is).

Also, there's alot of people who enjoy the Italian language (without understanding it).

It's not that low. According to Eurobarometer 2006, 29% of Italians speak English. Nevertheless it's definitely way lower than the European average (even lower than France).

It's a swedish song that's supposed to represent Italy. It SOUNDS foreign. We are already in the strangeness field regardless of the lyrics' language.

Good! Next year send Verona, so you can have all the italian gibberish without the burden of italian music.

Yyyyy... cool title Eurovision.tv :lol::lol::lol:

I'm not a fan of this song, I like it a bit more in Italian, but I couldn't care less... this is a let down for me that Per Sempre got replaced. Or maybe it's better so Per Sempre didn't get slaughtered by translating it.

Someone previously said it would be 60% English 40% Italian, but it's more like 75% English and 25% Italian...

Still don't know what to think of it. :(
