Please keep discussion in this thread specific to Eden Golan and her song, Israel's (potential) participation in Eurovision 2024 and discussions or remarks from other countries and organisations about Israel's participation.

Any further discussion of a political or humanitarian nature not relating to specifically Israel in Eurovision 2024 needs to go into the politics sub-forum. Thank you!

I guess they know it can stir more heat into an already hot pot?

But I'm curious, where did you project this from? Because this is not even about the snowflakes, rather about how KAN handles their already stained media presence.

Whatever KAN/Eden do (or doesn't do) is under an insane amount of scrutiny with mostly negative connotation.

So what difference does it make if they post this or not? It's their channel, it's actual depiction of their prep work.

Plus why are these detractors actively seeking these things out? The level of obsession is unhealthy.

Hello everybody and please give me the stage for a sec to explain my perspective why Israel is gonna finish top3 and maybe win it all in 3 simple reasons.

1. Juries will give points. A decent amount of points. No matter what public opinion is, governments stand in favor of Israel.

2. Apart from Israelis from all over the world who are gonna vote for the song, there are a lot of people who are in favor of Israel and other who actually don't care and like the song. Remember: there are no negative votes, only positive ones.

3. The song is really really beautiful.

For all these reasons keep an eye today if the odds fall under 2.0 as well.

She is only human; Eden is not Netanyahu the same way Sergey Lazarev or Polina Gagarina are not Putin. People really need to chill with the hate towards the israeli ESC delegation (direct it to their actual government or politicians instead).

Well-deserved Q because of the impeccable vocals at the very least. Many sung badly in this second semi for some reason.
You are not doing Eden any favor by comparing her to Putin's tool Polina Gagarina. :ROFLMAO:

Bigger problem here is Luxembourg and the Netherlands having almost identical flags 😁
Luckily Luxembourg has two flags, and one day we'll be allowed to use the other one all the time!

But no, the bigger problem is actually that people think it's OK to post hateful, stupid stuff like that and laugh about it.

Oh god. EBU not coming out on an official statement on the reason for Netherlands' absence during the jury show is going to make things worse for Eden. Now that we have multiple rumours of what could have resulted in that decision, but the one where the Israeli delegation is involved is going to be picked up the most because it's just very convenient at this point. Not sure if this is going to intensify the hatred in the arena when Eden performs.

Going to vote for Israel tomorrow and i think many Norwegians will do the same. Both because the song is Awesome and because People of tired of all negative about Israel.

The news goes crazy about Israel

So it's ok for Israeli press to harass the Dutch and Greek delegations and shout insults to them? Will the EBU interfere or they only do that when the word "ceasefire" is mentioned?
There is no proof the Israel press harassed anyone. Its all speculation.

Is this a question directly towards me? Because I didn't respond to anything you said, I didn't even properly read your post to be honest (nothing personal but I'm at work lol)

I think I quoted the wrong person, sorry mate.

To be plain honest, Israeli entry is not giving anything. Politics aside, this song shouldn't even have qualified yesterday, let alone being a serious contender for a win. If Eden went on to win tomorrow, I feel like it would be the end of ESC as we know it. There's basically too much at stake for the EBU to host it in Israel.

Interestingly, her father was born in Riga, Latvia, and her grandfather live here as well.

Was trying to put my bias aside when listening to this the other day. Especially when reading about the original title.... But I just don't think this song is any good at all. It feels bland and hollow to me. Israel have done so much better than this.
This, she's a song writer who produces her owns songs, Israel really should have let her do that, I'm convinced it would have been better.
