Meh this is in the category of good but forgettable songs this year. See also: Germany

I wouldn't be surprised if Israel failed

I really do not think so,
"same heart" can not be forgotten song, it's going to be a huge show,
If Israel does not rise finalist this year, It probably really politics ...

But that is very subjective so not based on any facts. Israel is currently 18th in the betting odds which means it could go either way. I have no idea how "politics" would play a part in this, that just seems like an excuse to vent.

It's ironic the fact that for me Only teardrops was a good but forgettable song and then.. and we can say the same for Running scared, Believe, Satellite...

It's always the same, if some nations sing some songs the odds will be different.

I tell you what, I think so, if the song is good, it will work,
But, you can not ignore the points that go to neighboring countries, and to Israel as you probably know, there is no neighboring countries participating in Eurovision, so the starting point is not equal for everyone.
Regarding betting site - two days ago Israel was in place 13, but to tell you the truth, if I have to spend my money, I would not waste it on country that does not has risen to the finals the last three years, even if the song will win that competition.

And come back to be optimistic ;) ... because the song is a huge song, and the rest of the polls predict that Israel will reach the Top 10, all before she was show it live with the sound quality high, no choreography, and because I know who she is "Mei Finegold", and how she is a giant singer, and Stage Animal I can Promise with confidence - "same heart" is going to be one of the best performance of the year, if not the best !!

I don't really trust the odds this year. Fan polls seem to have it very high though. Not saying that means much either, but I honestly think this will qualify. Won't be easy with Israel's lack of friends, but the juries will love it.

I actually agree and believe it'll qualify too, though I think this will be more appreciated by the televoters.

I was merely referring to the statement of blaming politics should Israel fail to qualify. Israel did well in the televote in those years they sent songs that were strong. it just sounds like a cop out

I can personally see this faring a similar fate to Kati Wolf. The hype might not be quite as ridiculous but I imagine Mei's result will probably be disappointing to some. She faces stiff competition from Macedonia and Italy who also both have pop rock songs sung by powerful, deep voiced female vocalists with a lot of charisma.

I also really don't see the song being a jury magnet either. Mei seems to be a nice girl and a great performer though so I hope she does well for Israel. I just wish one of her other two songs was picked as I like them a lot more.

My thoughts exactly. This is getting quite a hype and one knows the turn these sudden phenomenons sometimes take. Although she's way better than kati wolf it's hard not to think of her. Mei will not look as ridiculous as kati, I'm sure of that, but she might on the other hand look more aggressive which may prove just as lethal in ESC voting terms. Myself, I shall never get it why this song was selected instead of the other two. Being bilingual also won't help. It hardly ever does, quite the opposite.

I don't see Macedonia as real competition though. Tijana is very likeable, but she might be regarded as a litle wacky, not to say weird by the conventional ESC viewer. Older looney ladies don't tend to do too well in eurovision and she may prove to be too charismatic. Her song is pleasant but not special or instant enough. I can't see her getting out of the semi tbh.

First of all - I love the song. Mei has an incredibly great voice.

Secondly - I'm glad Germany is voting in SF2, so I will telephone vote for Israel. Because I like the song.

It's not about politics. If it was, Russia won't get a lot of points this year.

It's not about neighbour votes either. Germany has a lot of neighbours but never got a lot from them , unless we sent Lena. It depends on the song.

I wish Israel to be in the top 5, but it really depends on how people accept this song. I remember me listening to it for the first time - I liked it, but not as much as now. I found it rather mediocre. I think it's a good Eurovision song but these "typical" ESC Songs tended to fail in the past, i.e. Kati Wolf, also Cyprus "comme ci comme ca", Kate Ryan, Iceland "Je ne sais qois" - maybe Israel will share this fate with Ireland this year; it could happen to Ireland as well.

Yes, I think she'll come across as too aggressive. Hard and fierce songs generally don't go down too well at Eurovision. Aurela Gace comes to mind (she was my favourite that year). I actually do find myself quite surprised over the hype surrounding Mei's song.

I personally think Tijana is the dark horse of the year. I find her song to certainly be the most memorable of all the pop rock numbers of the year. The verses are strangely infectious. I literally cannot get the "I got a feeling.." sections out of my head. It's driving me insanexgaah
Her kookiness will either help or go against her. We haven't really got any other crazy, larger than life characters this year. I think she'll be really dangerous providing the jury somewhat get behind her.

Aurela Gace definitely comes to mind. Her performance was rather impressive too, we don't still know what's Mei's going to be like. This is worrying me horribly as a very dear friend of mine might be in for a greater amount of grief than he can cope with and I sure do not want that xfacepalm

I can't share your view... For me this song is blandness incarnate xshrug

I don't understand why ESC audience usually prefer fragile princesses over strong and agressive women.

Obviously a lot of people are keen on idea of woman empowerment and strength yet.

Neither do I, but it's a fact xshrug It must have something to do with this being an old family show and all that.
