Updates:

Dana is going to change the song and rework it in the following days in the studio. she might end up doing it a full hebrew song...
she also says that all the performance will be changed because she doesn't want it to sound like Diva where she makes the entrance...
The song will be more upbeat and might even start with the mid-end of the song (haleili hayam etc etc..)

For nostalgic reasons this is so cool! Danas ESC-win is one of the first memories I have from the Eurovision, so it's so cool to see her again! :D

However...The song is really old-fashioned, the show is really boring and too bad I haven't find a good version of her preformance in high quality yet, so I can't hear her singing abilty.
If she re-arreange the song, put some dancers up there and make a decent show, then Israel will qualify to the final, otherwise she might get huge probs to do so...

dont really get that dear..........she presented a song at yr nf,which was voted( if understood well from various different juries + televoting )and now as per Dana 's statement, this song will be significantly changed...?? so,how would u know if israeli people will like the new version...? when there is a nf where a number of songs are presented and are being voted, this means that voters liked a song the way they heard it...........major changes are neither fair for voters nor for other contestants...

alot of winning entries are being revamped, there's no difference here really.

So what do you say about entries totally changing languages? Surely that's not what the voters voted for...

Brilliant news, exactly what I needed to get some hope again!
Especially the part with the song starting with the Haleli-Hayam part, the slow beginning right now is really suboptimal in my opinion!
GO DANA, pls let the result be something in the direction of LoveBoy, Sered Hodi or Alay!!!

Slightly off topic, but seeing as many past winners seem to be coming back in recent years, can I put in a request for Sertab to come back for turkey next year? haha

On the note of the song, it's ok...I think Israel will definetly be in the final

i know u understand my point....changing stage performance, this is common practice for almost all participants..BUT making the song more upbeat /hvng it start with the mid-end of the song /maybe hvng it in full hebrew version (thats the gd part!!) , well for me ,if ALL these happen,we re talking abt major changes/alterations that may result in a 'different' song which eventually may NOT be liked by the initial voters who hv sent this song to Germany....

Oh man... This would have been a good song in 1998, but in 2011 is just out dated. I think someone fresh and new would be better for Israel, but OK...they liked Dana, they choose Dana.
I don't find her interesting anymore, rather boring. Her vocals were poor tonight and performance wasn't a blast either. If wanna do good in Dusseldorf, she'll have to give much better show:S
I'm (obviously) disappointed with this choice.
Maybe I'll like song more...later.... for now..3p. (being generous and subjective cause I like former Israeli entries).

I wasn't talking about performances.

Alot of countries are changing their entries for Eurovision, update the sound, change some lyrics, language maybe, change instruments etc.

It's very common and this will not be an isolated case.

Also, don't you think it's for the best for Eurovision if the entries gets as good as possible? Updating the song is not the same as changing the whole song.

If you care about the support, you'd say "her" song and not "his" song ;)
