In the transsexual world maybe.

As a, let's say not straight, person myself , I don't feel represented by transsexuals what so ever. I respect their choice, but they do not represent gay people in general, since gay people are not people who wished to be another sex.

I like you more and more! :D

Sure they are, but IMO many of them don't really look women, but somewhere between woman and man. Talking about the face, not the body ;)

Oh, in Thailand they look like women atleast

Anyways we're getting off-topic

Dana for sure is a good piece of "work" though ;)

She already said the performance gonna be really different from the one tonight. In addition, she will make another version for the song!
If you say so. I really hope the song will be boosted, prior to the actual contest. Otherwise, it is just weak song with no appeal.

I think that Dana International does represent the gay community - we are all GLBT and that includes Transexuals - but that's just my feeling :).
And I dont think it's fair to comment on Transexual people's looks, it's generalisation...

Well, I don't feel represented, just as I don't think a lesbian represents a gay guy and vice versa. But I guess that's my approach, never liked this whole GLBT approach in the first place, we're all different people with different opinions/goals/lives etc. A straight person can represent a gay person more if they share similar personalities than a gay person with the opposite opinion and life.

Anyways, as for talking about people's looks, we do it all the time. Just look in the section of best looking acts this year. It's the same thing isn't it?

There's little enough representation for each individual group as it is. All four groups that are a part of the "LGBT" are seeking the same goals. Equal rights. It's not out of this world for us to consider each other representatives of each other.

Either way, this has gotten off topic. I'm pretty certain Dana will make the corrections needed to succeed and not fall on her return as Niamh or Chiara did.

It would be if you just commented on her looks as person but someone said about Transexual people looking like men and she is one of the only ones that doesnt - that's generalising imo.

See that's where I don't agree, we don't share equal goals, we are different personalities and want different things in life.

I mean why should a transsexual (meaning a person who feel like he/she was trapped in the wrong sex) being grouped together with gay guys (who wants to be guys, but just are attracted to the same sex)? Their life approach is very different only based on this.

Anyways, I don't like labeling people.

Yeah, back on topic

If Dana updated her song, I can see her doing better than both Niamh and Chiara (both whom had imo pretty bad follow-ups).

Oh okey, well I never said that though.

Although there are cases like that aswell for sure.

But then we have males looking like females without being transsexuals and females looking like males too

Oh, what does it matter? Dana represents the LGBT group to the point where each one feels represented by her. Personally I don't care if she also tries to lead any gay movement, because in some way we are two groups that both have been abused (much more in the case of transsexuals, I think). But if anyone thinks that she shouldn't represent the entire group, is a highly respectable opinion.

I don't like the song, by the way. But it's amazing to have this appearance after 13 years :p
