I would like to see an entry with some authentic traditional Irish sounds, without it being 'stage Irish'.
Best solution here. It's not 1990s anymore, 100% juries nor language's rule is not giving any advantage. Ireland is not going to send great, well-produced entry, so you have to try with "your" sounds to stand out.

No offence but the majority of this is nonsense. Ireland's big issue is they moved away from the professional way they did things in the 90s (having music professionals involved from outside RTE) and made it in house after 2002 (an amateur way of doing things, basically the same thing the UK have been doing until James Newman). What Ireland need to do is get delegation in place that doesn't live in the early 2000s and ideally one from the modern era. We can work our way from there as the current delegation are a lost cause so it's pointless trying to reason with them.

I agree with you.

Kealy saying that if we qualify for the final, it would help build the case for a national final. Hmmm

I don't want any NF that he's involved with. Like I've said until Michael is gone it really doesn't matter what selection process we do, anything he's involved in will turn to sh!t.

This is him just gaslighting us again, making it look like he cares but anyone with common sense know's the truth. Even at the start of this interview he begins it with going into his big bag of excuses again, he know's he's terrible at his job and tries to deflect immediately.

So, here we are again.

I live in hope that 2024 a decent act will come forward with a good song and be supported/directed properly by RTE

I don't think there is an issue with there being good acts with good songs. There were tonnes but they were sadly overlooked for the NF

If they decide to organize their selection again at the Late late show, or however it's called, they should simply withdraw and follow Luxembourg and say "ok, we won 7 times, but that's all from us".

Michael Kealy said this during the Maynooth Eurovision conference :

Ireland HoD Michael Kealy was asked about slogans if Ireland won and were hosting.......

His response was "luckily enough, I don't think we'll have to think about that in the next few years"..... Than he backed-up and said maybe we will, but I think the immediate response says a lot about his his (and probably RTE's) mindset.

Remember for two seconds that this the HEAD OF DELEGATION speaking, when you factor that in you slowly start to see why Ireland have been so terrible in the contest.

So, to echo something said in that Twitter thread by someone else, the one time that Ireland qualify for the finals is when the artist ignored their suggestions? Well, I feel that says a lot about the folks at RTE.
RTE is poorly regarded by many of the Irish public, seen as a lazy broadcaster that overpays its "stars", produces little of quality anymore, and is nepotistic.
