This NF is not "that bad" (on the "Germany-radio-friendly-mess" level) but :ie: will clearly be heavily struggling once again... which is such a wasted opportunity.... Eurovision has become such a powerhouse for a few songs to blow up internationally (even if it´s been Tik-Tok-driven) + the UK ...are about to hostI think that´s the reason why we got a few "familiar" names in the Irish national final but still... I somehow expected more willingness to succeed from Ireland..especially this year.
The point that you addressed - that UK is hosting - is such a big thing. And that's why I simply don't understand that Ireland isn't striving more. What a missed chance! And you are right - it reminds me so much of our last year. (And i fear OUR NF in March as well.)
Well, this year I will have to search my favorites in other sections, that is clear.

01 ADGY – Too Good for Your Love 10/10
02 Connolly – Midnight Summer Night 8/10
03 Wild Youth – We Are One 6/10
04 K Muni & ND – Down in the Rain 5/10
05 Public Image Limited – Hawaii 5/10
06 Leila Jane – Wild 3/10

I love ADGY Song, this is amazing, absoultely my thing. I really like the song from Connolly, it's also really great and i think Ireland could have really good result with that. Two Strong songs in my eyes, the rest is not so strong and would be mean again a final without Ireland. I hope really for ADGY or Connolly going to Liverpool.

Has it occurred to anyone that RTE probably don't want to win for some reason? Probably due to the cost of hosting lol

hmmm UK sent bonnie & engelbert years ago and the irish try it now (maybe) with an old punk.
after heard all songs twice i would say, that "midnight summer night" is the best choice for ireland - second maybe "hawaii"?
but be careful with "down in the rain" after what has happend in the ukraine.xcookie

CONNOLLY and possibly ADGY are good ideas for Ireland, depending of the rest of the lineup (especially for ADGY, it also could end like the safe-NQ Sandro was supposed to have for Cyprus).
I was expecting a bit more from Wild Youth, even if "We Are One" would be a safe Q in 2013. Ten years later, I'm not that sure about its destiny... same applies for Leila Jane.
Kudos for PIL and K Muni for diversity, but nope for Eurovision.

So, I expect Ireland and Denmark to have their usual battle about who will finish highest in the low end of the board. Ireland's selection overall is more or less of the same quality as last year, but I actually liked last year's Irish winner better than any of these (at least in its studio version).

Midnight Summer Night is absolutely gorgeous and the best thing anyone Irish has put forward for Eurovision in YEARS (apart from JESC's IOU of course). Ireland, you HAVE to pick Connolly.

I know my taste is basic sometimes, and it’s clearly reflected here. I absolutely dislike Hawaii and MSN. My clear favorite has to be We are one. I also don’t see Hawaii or MSN doing well on the Eurovision stage at all, while I think Wild Youth could actually produce a meaningful moment and qualify. But we‘ll see, I also get why people see it differently.

Don't worry. I am mostly swimming against the musical stream, but sometimes I am like: "Am I that superficial?" But as long as a song reaches you, you shouldn't care. And I shouldn't either. :ROFLMAO:

I think they should send "Hawaii" and it could actually do well in Eurovision, even a surprise top 10. They really need to add some intensity to the last chorus though, give it more of a climax.
