The point that you addressed - that UK is hosting - is such a big thing. And that's why I simply don't understand that Ireland isn't striving more. What a missed chance! And you are right - it reminds me so much of our last year. (And i fear OUR NF in March as well.)This NF is not "that bad" (on the "Germany-radio-friendly-mess" level) but will clearly be heavily struggling once again... which is such a wasted opportunity.... Eurovision has become such a powerhouse for a few songs to blow up internationally (even if it´s been Tik-Tok-driven) + the UK ...are about to hostI think that´s the reason why we got a few "familiar" names in the Irish national final but still... I somehow expected more willingness to succeed from Ireland..especially this year.
Welcome into mauve-club. The only song I actually like from this section, but I think it wasn't made for ESC.
No ... Hawaii happened.the hell happened
Has it occurred to anyone that RTE probably don't want to win for some reason? Probably due to the cost of hosting lol
Controversial but I really liked Bonnie's entry lolhmmm UK sent bonnie & engelbert years ago and the irish try it now (maybe) with an old punk.
after heard all songs twice i would say, that "midnight summer night" is the best choice for ireland - second maybe "hawaii"?
but be careful with "down in the rain" after what has happend in the ukraine.
Don't worry. I am mostly swimming against the musical stream, but sometimes I am like: "Am I that superficial?" But as long as a song reaches you, you shouldn't care. And I shouldn't either.I know my taste is basic sometimes, and it’s clearly reflected here. I absolutely dislike Hawaii and MSN. My clear favorite has to be We are one. I also don’t see Hawaii or MSN doing well on the Eurovision stage at all, while I think Wild Youth could actually produce a meaningful moment and qualify. But we‘ll see, I also get why people see it differently.
