Update since it hasn't been mentioned yet:

Connolly is reportedly in (song embedded above), and Daughter are not.

Academy's song is called "Down in the rain".
Elena didn't submit a song in the end. Even if she did though it would've been tough for her to win the selection being she isn't an Irish citizen as far as I know.

I'm not really impressed by this line up although I do consider "Hawaii" and "Midnight Summer Night" to be at least attention-worthy.

The former one would be a super risky choice though with its non traditional song structure hence why it kinda gives me the vibes of Georgia entries. I do kinda see myself vibing to this in my own time outside ESC related content.

MSN is giving me Coldplay/Temper Trap vibes with a little bit of We Are Domi.
I like the arrangement. And the verses. Chorus is kinda...ehh. I wish it was melodically stronger. Still, I find this to be the best choice based on audio clips alone.

I couldn't care less about the other four. 😔

Tumblr, mostly.
I mean they let Johnny Rotten in and he clearly would not have passed the panel test (um reviews spoiler?) (also: lmfao "panel test", i'm such a comedian), so in the wise words of Jason Scerri: Anything could happen, njdevils!

If you compare it to last year though....

"Wild" is quite an unexcited song that ripples along.

I mean I don't know how good Johnny Rotten's song will be, but I wouldn't count him out either. I am keeping my fingers crossed anyway. Maybe his song is fine and the other ones are rotten? (Sorry for the low-leveled pun. I am ashamed of myself.xexcuseme)

One thing is sure: You weren´t a comedian in a possible former life.

By the way PIL's song "Hawaii":

Apparently a love song to his wife who has Alzheimer for more than 50 (?) years.

I didn't see that coming from Ireland. Midnight Summer Night for me is the best of the 6, it could definitely be the saudade, saudade (my winner in 2022) of 2023 with a cool staging. Wild and Too Good for your Love are also interesting and could do nice in Liverpool. With a bit of effort and the right choice, Ireland could be back in the Grand Final.

Holy moly ... what a terrible section ... there is absolutely no song that I want to hear again. My own favorite would be "Hawaii", but this is not a song for ESC. It is a touching song when you know the background story, but it would be out in the semi. But so would be the others as well. I need to re-listen the songs, but I guess regarding my taste, it would be "Hawaii" ( but I am not thrilled). Ireland, where the hell are you going???

So it seems :ie: can be once again happy if they don´t end up last in the semi??

Well I’m satisfied with our selection this year as it’s a definite step up in quality from past years and it feels like we are moving in the right direction.
The only entry I actively dislike here is Wild Youth as their song seems like it was too obviously composed with eurovision in mind so I hope they don’t win.
Adgy’s song is a like a glow up version of Agoney’s song from Benidormfest:giggle:

Let's go :

1. ADGY - Too Good For Your Love : Quite good, I was not a big fan of snippet but this song is very catchy
2. Wild Youth - We Are One : Splendid vocalist, verses were not something but really great pre-chorus and chorus, good one

3. CONNOLLY - Midnight Summer Night : This is nice but maaaan it has so much potential that I feel is wasted
4. K Muni & ND - Down In The Rain : Appreciating it for bringing diversity and was quite alright

5. Leila Jane - Wild : Bland stuff

6. Public Image Limited - Hawaii : This was sooooo boring

Johnny Rotten popping up in the Irish NF is somehow more bizarre to me than Flo Rida representing San Marino (yes I know hes second gen irish immigrant, who isnt)

I'd be pretty surprised if Wild Youth doesn't win. They are by far the biggest current name. The jury would have to really downvote them in that case.

Wild Youth winning would be nice, but please just avoid that absolutely horrendous Hawaii song, I want my 3 minutes back
