The "p-p-p-power" bit is making me think of the old Penguin chocolate bar adverts.

Can't say I really care for this at all. It's tolerable but indistinguishable pop.. which in a way could play to its strengths this year, so it might have been a wise pick. Time will tell.

:3: for now - I like the intro but the rest is clearly not my cup of tea - Some parts are even utterly annoying and I hate that "po - po - po - power" line - unfortunately, it´s part of the chorus.
Dunno, in any other year, I´d say that this is a surefire NQ but since :is: takes part in semi 2....

Oh no, despite :is: being my 2nd favourite country in Eurovision, I have to place it inside my bottom 5 for now :(

The dubstep beat oh my I love

BUT I don't like the lyrics or anything else really :( maybe if it was in Icelandic I'd like it more

:5: p-p-points. Considering there was really nothing to choose from this NF, this is decent-ish. The icelandic version gave it a better allure now it's just your typical Danish songcamp p-p-power pop song.

Tumblr, mostly.
I paid no attention to Iceland tonight, and I was told in advance that Dilja was a mess. Imagine my surprise when i was hit by a synthbop with a killer drum&bass beat by a performer so overpowered by her own ADHD that she peppers her act with karate chops at the most random intervals.

I was of course instantly charmed. :8: points.

Söngvakeppnin 2023 Final is now over. The winner is Diljá – "Power". That's hardly surprising, considering that was the favourite to win tonight.

I'd say Diljá – "Power" was the most modern of the songs that was performed tonight; it's lively and catchy, but there is one moment where it gets a bit too screechy for my liking. Time will tell whether or not Diljá – "Power" can qualify to the ESC Grand Final this year. Iceland performs in the first half of the ESC Second Semi-Final on 11 May 2023. The United Kingdom votes in that semi-final, but time will tell whether or not I'll want to vote for Iceland that evening. Good luck to Diljá in the ESC Second Semi-Final, and in the Grand Final if she gets there.

Well done also to Langi Seli og Skuggarnir for getting to the Super Final, and to the other three artists for getting to tonight's Söngvakeppnin 2023 Final. All five of tonight's artists did well to get this far.
