What a mess did I just watch? A girl in a 90s outfit sings an 80s songs with a 2010s drum n bass rhythm and a 2000s background behind her.
Oh dear Iceland, I‘ve always had a soft spot for you in Eurovision but this has to be your worst effort for the last 15 years or so.

Mhhh I want to like this so badly but I just don't. The problem is that the instrumentals are a type of underground techno pop and the singer is just way too preppy and doesn't integrate with the soul of the song. She's also a mess on stage in a way that just isn't inviting to the viewer. :1:

Bragi was so much better me thinks

Actually quite like this, it's not a game changer by any means but I think it's a decent catchy track. I'm gonna give it a :7:

This is very charming, and I think it could sneak into my top 10 by the end of all the song reveals.
I also recognise that it will probably struggle to qualify.

Quick review: thr song's ready for competition, it's just fhe staging that needs more direction and appropriate lightshow. Those flowers and Nat Geo footages are some sort of odd choices.

All in all not a bad song, but just so forgetable. Wouldn't skip it in a playlist, but it is still boring. A :4: from me.

Bragi sounded and looked very Swedish. Very mainstream Mello song. But I guess I would have chosen him, given the options.

Iceland is usually cool and different. Don't know what happened this year. I actually really liked the meditative vibe the sisters gave last year. But this 2023 winner sounds like something very standard from long ago. It's not catchy or melodic either. I'm sorry. I love Iceland and its music so much...

I'm sorry but Our choice fits the description in my opinion. :)

I love Iceland at Eurovision, but sometimes they miss the mark.

It's a :5: for me, not bad but feels more like a filler. :( (And as an absolute fan of the icelandic language, I'm always a bit sad when they sing in English but in this case the English language fits the song.)

Man, as a usually somewhat-delusional :is: fan, it felt weird to miss Songvakeppnin this year. Even then, I didn't regret it that much as I wasn't all that invested in any of the songs (compare that to last year, where there were about 4 I would've been happy to see win).

Ah well, now that Dilja's won, time for me to start delusionally stanning her. Tbh, with a better staging for her to run around on, I feel like this qualifies quite easily? SF2 isn't all that competitive and this is a fun, catchy song. It's also a girlbop, for the fans that like that and will be feeling like they're missing out this year. I'm still in a good mood, let's say :8:!

Great to see my favourite winning. Definitely a song that was much needed and brings a little fresh air into the semis. I will give it :12:, because basic pop like this is justmy jam. And vocally she serves.

Middle of the road tbh, I don't actively dislike it but that's basically it. Don't think Iceland had somerthing better to offer though this year

Leaves me cold... Quite average, needs something interesting live or otherwise it's going to drown. (Or maybe not even any live shenanigans can help this one.) Though that happening in the semi is hard to say when looking at the lineup, but if this goes to the final then yeah, I don't see much of a chance for Iceland there.
