Strangely the entry reminds me of Svala's "Paper". Don't know why. The song is alright, just fine. She got a good voice, should appeal the jury. They need to redo the entire staging as it's basically nothing spectacular. Giving a :5:.

The chorus is really underwhelming, and this downgrades the song a lot. She has a great voice, but if she is singing half of the time "Papapapower", that will not be remembered on the night. I agree this is similar to Paper, and I can see it doing similarly in Eurovision too... :4:

For me this is the perfect :5: well produced to not be a bad entry, but not interesting enough to be more than just a good song.

Average describes the song the best... I am not often going to skip it in the playlist, but it won´t be in my top 10/15 either.

I'll give it a :6: if it was in Icelandic it'd been an :8:.. I just love their language so much and the "po po po power" just doesn't hit the same way.

An inoffensive song from Iceland, probably they chose well in their NF but that's all. :5: points

Power indeed, but for what purpose?

First off, i absolutely can't stand this vocal style in any kind of music, though the arrangement and the stage performance are a bit outside of the norm for this kind of entry, and.... there's almost some things i like about it for some parts, but the overall reminds me to much of a type Melodifestivalen entries i want to finish last, and all too often doesn't. I think she has a decent chance at capturing some votes, particularly if she comes across as likable and interesting, but it won't make my playlists.

Since I watched Icelandic national final, Söngvakeppnin 2023 Final, yesterday evening (Saturday 4 March 2023), I've made a video, containing my opinions on all five finalist songs in order of performance (based on Söngvakeppnin 2023 Final performances), and my ranking from fifth to first in My Eurovision Scoreboard.

Iceland have so many good songs in eurovision. But this is not one of them. It feels like a weaker version of paper. Iceland is lucky that they sing in semi 2 and have some hope to get final. But i,m afraid this will end up like Paper

Celebs was a mess but when the Semis are 100% televote they had the better chance to qualify, they were entertaining and memorable.

"Power" is a very middle of the road song, I couldn't listen to it completely yet ... I just get really bored with it. The juries probably would've saved this and helped it qualify but now I'm very certain that Iceland will stay in the semis. I'll give it :4: points

This is admittedly very nicely produced but sadly does nothing for me. It leaves me completely cold and it sounds so commonplace. And her manner of singing irritates me little bit. 4/12 in the poll for me.

I vastly preferred Icelandic song from last year.

I liked quite a lot Paper but I dislike Power unfortunately. I can see similarities though, the arrangements and the key too I think is very similar.

Great interpreter with an average, overheared, bland song. Pitty. A 5.

But Sweden, Netherlands, Norway and Denmark would vote for this like crazy. 🤣
I can promise you I won't vote for an average pop song like that. Don't even like the melody lines. I want something ethnic, edgy or indie. Sweden and Denmark will like it more. I'd say Norway, in taste, is somewhere in between Finland and Sweden.

This is among the most annoying songs of this year - I don’t have anything positive to say - :1: point

It was a landslide for Diljá in the final.

WTF, is this real? Are these public vote numbers? Almost ALL of Iceland's population voted?
Damn, they MUST love ESC :D
And I thought Estonians were crazy about that. 4 times bigger population and 4 times less votes in Superfinal
But yeah, our prices were the biggest of all the other countries, so...
