JNB4 Disney buys the rights to Meet Me Halfway and uses it as the key musical number in Frozen 3 featuring Jordan-Ravi’s Pushing Stars as the outro credits song

Well my country managed for the first time in a long time to pull off a decent song selection for the national selection. Bravó!

What has bothered me before and again this year however is that the songs feel flat and lack power. Waiting to see how the live performances will look like but for now the songs i can see myself root for is Almyrkvi, Oculis Vidare, Ekkó and Klukkan tifar (in no particular order). I really like DIMMA however in general. Going on a live show with them is so much fun, full of power and just overall fantastic showmanship. Really hope they wow us on stage. The others i don't know in particular but looking forward to see their performance.

As a Dutch person all the Icelandic songs are pretty interesting. I can hear a lot of misheard lyrics (we call it 'mama appelsap) in almost all songs.

For the Dutch people here, these are the best ones:

Gagnamagnið (0:49) - Daar kijkt er weer een stukkie touw naar Ben. (again, there is a piece of rope looking at Ben)
Oculis Videre (1:20) - En 'k zwaai weer terug naar... (and I am waving back at...)
Ævintýri (0:55) - Hé kijk, een mol! (hey look, a mole!)
Elta þig (1:24) - Je hebt wat gezien, maar we kunnen niet tellen. (You've seen something, but we can't count)

The choice here seems obvious to me though that probably means nothing coming from such a La Forza and Zero Gravity stan. Oculis Vider sure has some enormous potential though.

Oculis videre is not pop opera. It will be placed higher. Also, her handicap, unfortunately may drag her more points.

I think Iceland can win with Oculis Videre.

Winning seems like a stretch, as much as I’d love to agree. I don’t mean to discourage the thought at all but Iva seems to be a relatively inexperienced performer. As with anything, I think the key to her success will be her ability to emotionally connect. I can’t wait to see how it will be performed anyway, in all it’s atmospheric glory.

Aside of all the songs let's adore this sleek and sexy new Keppnin logo

Hildur Vala's video. Really minimalistic and dark.
Honestly the song reminded me of early 90's Bjork, imagine her Debut and Post materials

Tumblr, mostly.
A disability is generally a disadvantage in ESC. Iceland would have to be careful if they choose Iva. The second they paint her as "look at poor blind Iva", they're toast.

I like Fellibylur quite a bit but the more I listen to it, the more I realise how disastrous it would be at Eurovision. The song is a mood but not one that's going to inspire much in people besides those that appreciate this kind of music to begin with who probably won't be watching Eurovision or feel the urge to pick up the phone to vote.

I think it has to be Iva. I love the final 80 seconds of her song. It's absolutely majestic. Probably the first pop opera piece that's taking itself more seriously I'd properly find myself enjoying if it were to be sent to Eurovision.

+1 also I feel the exact same way about White & Black Holes in Czech Republic and about half of the songs in Portugal.

I'm more undecided on White & Black Holes. I think it's obviously a risk but not something where a payoff is impossible. That song at least has some form of a climax and is very inline with the stuff of some current indie songstresses. I feel the jury will at least be there for it but it's also no absolute certainty.

Fellibylur meanwhile sadly would be dead on arrival I think.
