Wow, who would've expected Iceland to have a decent NF lineup after the mess they served last year. Really enjoyed most of their entries, especially Dimma and Iva's. "Oculis Videre" is the first NF entry this year that I could call "EPIC". Neo-medieval folk slay my bod. Sounds a bit like Enigma too even. I would very much like to see it in Rotterdam.

Hildur Vala's song sounds like something that was supposed to participate in FdC but got lost on its way and landed in Iceland. Lowkey wishing it did participate in FdC, because it is better than everything they have there this year.

Oculis Videre is something else, it's one of the first truly incredible songs this season for me (and I'm really thankful I got to hear it before finding out it's a favorite, hence not being biased in any way). And it feels a bit like ERA or like that church singing, not necessarily just opera. It's even giving me flashbacks to Highland's Bella Stella, one of my favorite songs ever

And there's other good songs as well, like Augun þín and Elta þig. In general it seems like a good NF.

It has that chruch feeling which is something you don't see in Eurovision! Iceland you have a great chance here!

I prefer Brynja Mary's entry in English language..by far..
The same goes for Iva...

But Iva's song is dropping for me, it goes down my list as I listen to it more...
I hope it won't win now..
Maybe live will blow me away..but I doubt...

On the other hand Elisabet climbs so much for me..especially in Icelandic language..that beat drives me..
And voice is fantastic..I hope live is great..

No way! Opera is at least safe in the final and usually reaches top10.

I have a bad feeling Iva won't win. It will probably be Daði that represents Iceland, since he has the most popularity in Iceland and the most Spotify streams so far. Icelandic people are going to vote for what they know!

A quick ranking of the icelandic songs:

1. Iva - This is the best song, it is pretty beautiful...but I still worry that it might totally lost in a Eurovision. I can see this getting an early draw in a tough semi and get eliminated. If they frame the performance, giving Iva some help on stage, then this might work well.
2. Daði & Gagnamagnið - really liked Daði in 2017, this song is decent, but not as strong as back then.
3. DIMMA - To be honest, there have been loads of better rock songs than this. But it is fine....I guess.
4. Matti Matt - pretty cute ballad
5. Elisabet - Just a normal ESC-pop song...
6. Brynja Mary - Just a normal ESC-pop song...
7. Nína - Just a....yes a normal ESC-pop song...
8. Kid Isak - Nice melody, no chorus.
9. Isold & Helga - Typical icelandic boredom...
10. Hildur Vela - ZZZZZZzzzzzzzz

Well, I didn't think Iceland could cope bringing as epic as Hatari, but when I read they got some Netflix money, I thought they could bring something different at least...now Iva is fine, but still a great risk that I am not so sure that even the Icelandic people want to do...But I can't see anything else being sent to be honest.
I doubt that Iceland will qualify this year.

Well not the worst NF this season by any means, but yet more average drivel most in it. Although I really do enjoy my top 2, especially 1. It seems Iva is the eurofan hype for this year and this NF, Well I don't find it anything particularly special at all. I thought Elina was overrated-all-show-no-substance rubbish. This is better for sure but still nothing that enthralling. People seem to latch onto anything as deep and meaningful these days and it hype into the beyond when it's really not all that.
