I´m a big sucker for an industrial type of sound when it comes the music I that love.

Rammstein is one of my favorite bands out there. I also listened to a bit of Blutangel and I loved that one as well.

And this entry right here is totally giving me vibes from those two bands.

So, it would only make sense that I would absolutely enjoy this one. Not my favorite so far, but its close.

I give it 10 points for now! xmusicxmusicxmusic

Positive:
- whole performance reminds me of Rammstein
- love how they swim against the stream with such a song full of hate. Eurovision needs that
- they are critical on Israel politics xup
- Klemens' high vocals
- finally Icelandic again

Negative:
- neither melodical nor really accessible
- it takes some listenings to get used to the growling of Matthías

Positve aspects are winning here  thanks for breathing new life into Eurovision and enriching it with such dark and heavy vibes. Also thanks for bringing Icelandic back to the contest. What a contrast to the embarassing entry from last year

Can't understand though why the odds put it so high. I guess it will flop in the semi final xthink

Nevermind, 8 points from me! Áfram Ísland! xheat

This is an entry that I wished so much for this year's ESC. Many songs are too "decent", and a little provocation doesn't hurt. But it's not only about provocation, I like the song, ist irony, and the staging is brilliant. This entry seems to divide the fans, it's either loving or hating it. At least it doesn't leave you cold. And I could actually see this making its way in May. Outstanding is always a good thing between all these many entries. And Hatari IS outstanding, no matter if you like it it not. This is an obvious 12 pts. from me.

A brave decision from Iceland. It will be too much for some, but many entries are "too much" and they still do good. The fact this genre with this performance is at Eurovision is already a victory. This just shows Eurovision has capacity for all genres.

It will be interesting to see if journalists will start to wonder about their position on Israel and Palestine because this kind of bends tend to be quite vocal and support Palestinian claims.

The second half of semi one will be so interesting.
Iceland, Portugal, Australia are the three OTT this year. The running order will be important for them 'cuz they can cancel each other out.

I can see this in the very high side of the scoreboard. It's just not my cup of tea, for me it's uncomfortable to hear and watch.

My feelings on this are still very mixed. Far from "love it or hate it" as well here. Aspects of it I appreciate for sure. The composition is for the most part alright. I watch a lot of horror and lean towards generally weird stuff, so I don't find the band particularly shocking or off-putting. That's really not the problem.

From enjoying synth pop and stuff with punk spirit, you'd think I'd be strongly in this songs corner, but I just don't feel I care that much. I think aesthetic plays a huge role with this entry, and admittedly I appreciate the whole erm.. thing they've got going on. Their style is interesting. Obviously if you're watching Eurovision with your wife and children, and you see Hatari on your tv screen, you're going to want to phone the police. I think the shock factor probably plays some kind of role in the weird fan hype this song is enjoying, somewhat similar to Conan as well, if I'm being entirely honest. For Eurovision obviously this will hit some people very raw. Outside of the contest though, I just don't think I'd care much. I don't like it by default because it's different to everything else and is pushing a few buttons. I need more than that. It's one of the better songs selected so far this year, but it's still kind of just there for me. I think of how they look more than I think about the song itself. I've gotten used to the vocals on it now and I'm still not really digging it. Considering I love dark EDM style stuff from bands like And One, I should be for this entry way more than I am right now. It's just ok. The purposefully ugly verses living side by side the very Eurovision-friendly chorus is certainly a choice. I'm curious to check out more of their stuff to see how it compares to this, cause I agree with DaFlo's point. The song sounds like it's been specifically adjusted for Eurovision, which for me is a weird one, as it both adds and takes something away from it. I laughed the first time I heard the key change and thought the campiness of it was quite entertaining, but I also think we're possibly being denied the absolute real deal from them with this song.

The odds for Iceland are ridiculous at the moment.

Even if the song finished Top 5 in televoting, it's going to get buried by the juries.

For me the best result Iceland can hope for is a placement in the Top 10.

I don't think them being critical against Israel will hurt them. Loreen was critical against the Azerbaijani government and she still won in Baku.

Good choice Iceland!

Iceland and Portugal did awful choices. Both songs are the contenders for my last place (together with Italy).
Norway is just average.

Well I think this is the year's most polarizing entry, even more than Telemoveis. Their staging is the best so far imo and it's nice to go against the stream with a song full of hate. But seriously bookies? 4TH PLACE?!?! Ok yes it's an original song with a lot of energy but even if they are in top 5 of the televoting the juries are gonna tank them below 20th place The end result will probably be between 15th and 10th place (always considering they do well in the televoting).

People said Netta will fail with juries... Hm. Israel last year and Iceland this year have both strong messages hidden under "crazy" staging. I don't think juries will totally ignore Iceland.

Two things. Just my 2cents but 2 things :

1. Televote : this entry IS VERY POLARIZING. That means ? people will 50% hate and 50% LOVE TO DEATH this song, and those 50% that really like this entry will be enough to give them a strong televoting behind them. It's far better for an entry to be hated at 50% with 50% of love than to be "just liked" at 100% by everybody. Being "liked" by everyone won't be translated into votes and this 100% liked entry will fall behind Hatari.

2. Juries : I'm always amazed at how people consider juries to be an exact science. Juries are not androids when you can predict what they're gonna vote for. They are normal people (like you and me) just supposed to have a link with the musical industry. What we can say about them though is that they'll likely push a radio friendly song first, something clean. Which Hatari is not. But with the new system only 2 juries could love them when the 3 others could sink them and it'll be enough to gather some points, even one person (unless the 4 others rank them dead last, which won't happen in Azerbaidjan or Armenia already). And as a matter of fact : I personally know somebody that was a jury in a recent ESC year, we often talk about ESC and Hatari is his first right know.
once again, juries are like you and me and they all have different taste, thinking that they're gonna destroy this entry isn't impossible but isn't likely as well.

Maybe i'm delusional AF and i'll be a happy delusional then but I can't see a polarizing entry like that "at least" stay in the semi, unless the song is very bad... and Hatrið mun sigra isn't, it has a strong chorus and a key change. Like already checking boxes.

We have a saying in czech: "This is super bad. Hence people will love it!"

Was I really thinking they can't do any worse than the last year?
0 points and straight to the last place of my ranking.

as for its odds, they are about winners and nothing else. hatari being 4th in the odds doesn't mean all people think it will be top 4, it means it's the fourth most common bet for winning. yes, if juries hate this it's going to do pretty badly, but if they don't it's so easy to see this having the televotes to win that it becomes an easy bet. netta was super high in the odds and she was almost as big of a jury risk. nobody wins big money in odds without taking a risk. remember when jamala was as low as 80/1 during the jury vote reveal in 2016 and someone here made big money off that? that's the spirit.
