6 out of 9 judges put Hatari top on Saturday. They were a mix of international judges and Icelandic ones. We don't get to see which one is which. One of them put them third and two of them put them bottom.

Where did you get this information from? And what about the televoting numbers?

Foureira better have ranked Hatari top, or she's cancelled for me.

What are these last numbers on the site (9th & 16th february)? The number of votes or some combined jury+televoting?

Tumblr, mostly.
Happy with the end result here, of course, but these scores really show how superfinals can hurt controversial songs via anti-voting. Hatari were way ahead of Fridrik in the first round (47.5K > 25.4K) but the superfinal votes were a lot closer (62.1K > 52.1K).

Anti-voting fortunately does not matter in Eurovision though. Pretty much confirms my suspicions they will qualify effortlessly and that if only two of the jurors ranked them last, it indicates that the ESC juries won't be a hurdle either.

You're definitely right about anti-voting not mattering in Eurovision, which will be good as far as Hatari's televote hopes go. The juries going for them more than expected in the NF is a good sign too.

At the same time, though, it's important to remember that all sorts of things change between NFs and Eurovision, and that not every strong NF score will translate to a strong Eurovision result. Benjamin and Claudia won their NF televotes before coming bottom-5 on the Eurovision televote last year, for example; and from memory Rybak romped the 12-points from Norway's international jury only to end 16th with juries at the contest. So I don't want to get my hopes up too high just yet.

I'd be thrilled if you turned out to be right, though! Hatari deserves a good result.

Yeah, you can't compare a terrible NF line-up where only Hatari were good with an Eurovision final.
I'm pretty sure Hatari will sail to the final, especially thanks to a big televote, but I don't see the juries giving this many points.

I actually really like the song, it's a breath of fresh air from Iceland's run of dry beige entries. It will probably be in my top 10. But I just can't see it winning, I mean even if it got 400 points from the televoting it would need at minimum something like 150 points from the jury and I really can't see it happening.

Do you see Portugal winning?

I see this as another comedy entry from Iceland similar to Silvia Night, the Hellraiser staging and costumes was always going to attract a lot of attention and will definitely annoy some people in Europe. The anti-Israel comments might attract some boos, just like Silvia Night did when she was trolling Greece with her comments.

I'm excited to see this in the competition, and see how it comes across there.

Polarizing song. This is good, people will certainly remember it. In the finals for sure, and then... Who knows, but it doesn't matter - I actually like the song. The first time I was like... What?!?! But then, after hearing it for the second time, it's like: Okey, cute guys, BDSM insinuation, unusual singing style and mixing of singing styles, and actually a well structured song. Plus, it's a show. Well done, Iceland. Indeed a much better choice than last year's bland balad :)

I certainly acknowledge why this song is interesting. But actually it is a quite generic track on any leather bar and sex dungeon soundtrack.

Does anyone have a good translation of the lyrics? I've seen several on the internet that have considerable differences...

This is how I would translate the lyrics..

The orgy was unrestrained
The hangover is endless
Life is meaningless
emptiness demands all

Hatred will prevail
Joy will end
After all it is a mirage
Deceitful illusion

All that I saw
Flowed down tears
All that I gave
Gave once upon a time
I gave you everything

Universal deception
One-sided punishment
Gullible losers
The escape will end
Emptiness demands all

Hatred will prevail
Europe in ruins
Web of lies
Rise from the ashes
United as one

All that I saw
Flowed down tears
All that I gave
Gave once upon a time
I gave you everything

All that I saw
Flowed down tears
All that I gave
Gave once upon a time
I gave you everything

Hatred will prevail
Love will die
Hatred will prevail
Joy will end
After all it is a mirage
Deceitful illusion
Hatred will prevail
