Maybe it is just me, but I thought their televoting scores do not seem to be as high as expected. I thought the icelandic people would vote like crazy for this, especially if you think about how lacklustre the other songs were in the icelandic selection.

So I started looking up the results of the semis from the last years (semis because of fresh first impression). Voting numbers are released since 2015 (sadly not for 2018). First I compared the total voting numbers for each semi to see if there are maybe huge differences:

2017 Semi 2: 36059 votes
2019 Semi 1: 31725 votes
2015 Semi 1: 28566 votes
2019 Semi 2: 27650 votes
2017 Semi 1: 26932 votes
2016 Semi 1: 22253 votes
2015 Semi 2: 22006 votes
2016 Semi 2: 20961 votes

All in all, those numbers seem to stay on a quite similar level, so it seems to be kind of comparable. After that I ranked all songs and made some kind of hall of fame:

2019 Friðrik Ómar "Hvað ef ég get ekki elskað?" 14968

Guys I'm officially joining the hype train, I totally changed my mind about this one! I really start enjoying it right now. I'm upgrading to 8 points for now! And it's making a huge jump in my top 10

Tumblr, mostly.
Makes sense that Conan is somewhat glossed over because Hatari are more shock-inducing than he is (I love Conan to bits but he's merely weird as opposed to outright provocative) and they were chosen on the same evening. I don't think that wrecks Conan's chances though, but it could be indicative that Hatari could do a lot of better than most people expect them to. (as in: top three)

And the fewer things said about D-moll the better tbh.

Jacques Houdek was a guest at our NF, but really strange he didn't arrange with RTS to promote Roko with his entry, to perform at Beovizija, instead of him..he is greedy.. :D
Roko is popular here..
D-moll is totally unknown..
Tamara Todevska is popular here..

Am I winning something? I put in the ESC bold prediction thread that Iceland will win this year, that was like some weeks ago.

If this actually win, I want a special something around my nickname or a gold layer shining on my pp

Iceland won't win because
1) Juries will never let this win, yes I know they won the jury in the shockingly low-quality national final, but 2 jurors still put him last. It will be very, very easy for esc jurors to put this dead last. And the juries look for songs with hit potential, I don't think a lot of people would like to hear this on the radio
2) The vocal will be very off-putting to a lot of people
3) the whole BDSM theme. At the end of the day, eurovision is a family show. I don't think it will do as well with the televoters as a lot of people think

This will qualify, of course, but I'd expect a place between 8-20.

Absolutely amazing, it might be my first favorite right now :D Finally something very fresh and unique on the ESC stage. This song will push the boundaries of what is an ESC song and what isn't (if such thing even exists). If they get the chance to win, I hope they will use it, we need something like this :D

12 points.

Change of heart. From solid 10 on first go, it has gone to straight 12. Lyrics helped a lot, but even without the lyrics, the song is hellava captivating. I really wouldn't mind if Iceland finally takes it home with this song. It would be totally deserved. And the black hair guy is gorgeous! xheatx12s

I'd allow him to bake me anytime.

Well, his posture, body, voice, and that outfit... Come on, he is insanely hot on stage. He oozes pure sex-appeal! xpokerfacexhmmm

 Oh yes … he could seduce with a wooden spoon in his hand an apron around his hip. xheat

How old are the Hatari guys? They look so young which kind of makes their aesthetic lose some of it's appeal for me. They're cute and for sure good looking, but just ever so baby faced. Now if it was Oto Nemsadze strutting around wearing just a couple of belts telling me that hatred will prevail..... Mmmmm it probably would.
