Re: ICELAND 2016

I've just turned off. Give it to Greta though. Her song is an "It's there and I don't care" type that won't bother me. The other song is all kinds of atrocious.

She did a great duet with a veteran singer called Bubbi. It really boosted her visibility and name.

Although I'm not an Icelandic inhabitant, I'm certainly not deaf and I know how to judge singers' voices or not when I'm able to do so.
Here, Alda, which embodies youth in Iceland, ISN'T so great when we compare her to Greta.

This would basically be Iceland sending last year's song again. How did that song do at Eurovision again? I forget.

Now this could be interesting. Greta has improved her performance on second try while Alda had slight problems to stay in tune. I think Greta has a small advantage now.

Well John, what the crowd does like isn't automatically the best musicwise... How is it explainable that Justin Bieber is ruling the worldwide charts while some amazing bands doesn't even cross the borders. I don't want to offend anybody but the taste of many people of the newer generation is kinda... messed up

Oh this post sounds snobbish I know

These two options are so boring and cosmetic, especially Greta's.

I don't really like either song so I don't really care what goes. I won't be throwing a fit if either goes. I'm just waiting on Páll Óskar to find the perfect song so he can go. Then I'll be actively hooting or bitching about the semis but not now.

Do you know what I like the most in those NF in Iceland?
It's the crowd which widely applause when it's not so necessary, and even if Alda's song was dull, they keep applausing for the best as they saved the life of a baby seal...

I'm getting my keyboard ready for my head hitting it repeatedly in a few minutes.
