Definitely, my favourite -by far, I must say- is 'Eftir eitt lag'. I love the rhythm, the good vibes it gives off. Similar to Eg Syng! by Unnur (last year candidate) but this is much better for me. In my second place would be 'Elsku þú'. I don't like 'Amor'... it's OVERRATED!!!

Not sure about everyone else's view, but Amor blows the other 4 away. I LOVE the Asian influences!

I only listened to 5 of them and so far, I think Iceland has a very average selection, but I am growing on Amor.

I definitely see what you mean, I can hear the same vibes in the chorus ;)

But unfortunately the verses slow down way too much and drags the rest of the song down. They don't have the bubbliness of Switzerland or the cheerfulness of Portugal and therefore can't reach the heights of those 2 completely :(

Verses of "Amor" remind me of Vaya Con Dios, especially at the beginning when she starts to sing! :D :)

And once again a very strong selection in Iceland. For quality, we can always count on Iceland as almost every year. 4 very good songs, but unfortunately also one very bad song "Amor". I think it's a very weak and irritating song that quickly becomes very boring. I really hope it doesn't win because that would be a huge disappointment for me. But of course we should wait until the five other songs from the second semifinal will be released. Then we'll see.

Yes of course.. :)

I have been to their concert in Belgrade, here in Belgrade Arena few months ago, in the same Arena where ESC was held in 2008! :)

I cross my fingers that whoever wins this year will keep her/his/their entry in Icelandic (just like last year). I hope the Europhobic juries haven't discouraged Iceland from trying that again, afterall 2013 was Iceland's second best result in televoting (12th place in final) since the introduction of semifinal/s in ESC and actually one of Iceland's best televoting results period.

Let's just wait until we hear all the songs first before going on about languages. Maybe some of them will suit English. I'm assuming we agree that Amor doesn't?

Let's first hope the best song wins, and then that it'll stay in Icelandic.

Suit? Icelandic suits well and it sounds nice and interesting... no need for English regardless of song-style imo, I mean it's not as if English has some sort of universal patent on everything that isn't local/ethno sounding in terms of genre. Also, since these songs are originally in Icelandic (native language), I think the rule should be that the winning entry should stay in that language for ESC. I know there's no such existing rule, but from an ethical standpoint.

Icelandic is quite a specialist language. Not everyone likes to hear it, especially for romantic numbers. I like it, but many others don't. I think the Icelandic delegation know that going native is a risk, which is why they more often than not go English. They were ballsy last year, let's see what they do this time.

So? Not everyone can like everything right? Who cares tbh xshrug People have different taste in everything, if broadcasters are to send entries based on some calculated "idea" about what they assume "the masses" will like, then they'll have a difficult task because it's pretty impossible to please everyone. So why cater to the minds of the narrow-minded or make calculated moves, rather than just sending whatever they think represent them the best and would make the Icelandic people proud of their entry? If people are only comfortable hearing music in English, maybe ESC is not the right format for them to begin with? xshrug

And just to point out again, the 2013 entry was actually one of Iceland's more successful entries to date according to televotes alone, so once again the public are more open-minded than you give them credit for... (same cannot be said about juries though...).

Yes, I know. :D

Actually, I don't like 'Amor'. It seems to me a weird song, haha. Maybe, she's invoking the devil.
