I strongly favoured Jonsi in 2004, but he messed it all up. Hope he and his partner do better this year. The song is very strong, goes under the skin and haunts you..... like!

This is my favorite song at the moment. :) The best part is that it sounds very Icelandic. Really authentic. I hope that they won't translate it into English.

So I read some that has been written and I say BOOOOO ICELAND!!!

This song is so NOT meant to be translated.

Greta seems dumb. Does she even know what TYPE of song this is!? Obviously she's not aware and she doesn't care what the fans want.

BOOO! I hope you won't qualify! I am not in for this "slaughter an ethno song with desperate and random English" fest!

Such a pity, was my favorite Icelandic entry in years, I was really rooting for them to succeed this year after all cheese they sent throughout the years.

I agree with all of you, in Icelandic is awesome, in English will not be half as good as it is in Icelandic! It kinda reminds me Randajad in a way (not that they are similar of course) and if Randajad was in English, I wouldn't like it I think!

Exactly! 50% of what makes Rändajad so unique and haunting is the language, English would take away alot of the feeling. Someone should answer her with Rändajad as example... "how do you think Rändajad, Estonia 2009, would have worked in English!?"...

God I knew they would screw this one up. I can deal with some random pop or rock song being in English but NOT this type, it doesn't make sense.

Translating her response, she seems to be quite annoyed at people for asking her to keep it in Icelandic. She doesn't seem to understand that some songs do not work in English. She needs to get a grip before she blows her chances of winning.

I get the same feeling too. I wouldn't use the word "annoyed" but it's quite obvious she wants to sing it in english. :( So I don't really know why we're even trying to raise our voice...

I just hope AT LEAST they go for a multilingual version!

She's dumb and people who doesn't care what the public want I don't have much respect for.

What does Jonsi wants then? I mean she acts like this diva. Is she deluded? All these acts coming to ESC singing in English thinking they will become some worldwide stars? Well girl you will NOT be so instead be proud of the song and be a good representative for your country AND language.

She wrote a status in icelandic asking her fb friends about the language. Apparently most of them want it in english. I wonder when Iceland will wake up!

I have no idea what Jonsi says... I am really sad now. :( It's the first time I care SO MUCH about keeping a song in its original language...

Yet she gets annoyed if people answers that status?? Haha... gosh.

And I highly doubt the majority want this in English, maybe her personal fb friends, but I have yet to see ONE person anywhere on the net wanting this to be in English..

Did you comment about Rändajad? If she cares what people think she should ask ESCtoday to have a poll on the issue, I doubt she would dare that as obviously she already made up her own mind.

Well, there went my respect for her and my rooting for Iceland this year.

I mean if she so badly wants to sing in English I respect her opinion obviously, but not the nonchalant way of treating it. This is NOT an entry to be meant to be in English.

Last year I remember Magda from Poland changing to English, but she respected the fans and changed back to Polish... now Poland failed, but it was still an honorable thing to do imo. This however in Icelandic WON'T fail, so if that's what she's afraid of I think she should re-think.

Let's bombard her with messages in her facebook and twitter profile about not singing in English!!

I was so angry last year with Ukraine when they did the same!

Yeah let's do that!

I mean we can do it in a nice way of course, explaining how this is NOT the type of entry than needs to be translated (the "Rändajad" parallel is a good one).

I wrote a TEXT about it! But not in her status. I posted that to a friend's post on her wall. (The one I talked about earlier today)

Yeah guys comment about it. I have already done this. :)

I'd say spread the word to the ESC community (in here and on ESCtoday board) that she asks us for opinion on the language of the song.

Let's start the lobbying

Let's make a poll!

With the following options:

1) Keep it Icelandic (as it logically should be)
2) Randomly destroy it with desperation (translate it)

I think we must listen the english variant and after it, decide which is better, sometimes english variant is better than in original language

Not for these type of entries! Problem is if they make an English version they already decided it would be it I'm afraid, so let's not wait for such a version.

GOO ICELANDIC!

Well, I wished Shiri Maimon in 2005 or Rita Guerrar in 2003 would have spared out the English parts of their songs. They were flawless and those English annotations don't really help earning points, I guess.

So Iceland, please stick to Icelandic, although I don't get the meaning of your song. It doesn't matter, since the melody and atmosphere itself transport so much of it.
