jeez, Israel lost, get over it.I am so sad that so many events of this contest are overshadowed by the off-stage behavior of some artists and Marina is one of them. I just found out that she is my age and, I am sorry, for that she came across as very immature (for not saying something more insulting) with her playing Sleeping Beauty act (and I don't say that in advocating Israel / Eden). At least it suited her Mean Girls-outfit so maybe she was still in character when doing that.
Newsflash: The world is not black and white. I was not, in any way, rooting for Israels participation and am Pro-Palestine. Yet I can find that behavior coming from a 36 year old person off-putting. She should know better.jeez, Israel lost, get over it.
I believe Greece should still have some hidden talent in alternative scenes. We've never sent a proper rock song for example, while Greece has a prominent alternative rock and metal scene. We've never tried a full-on modernised traditional song like dimotiko, or regional sounds like a song with Cretan instrumentation for example. Even an entry in entechno could be an alternative suggestion for once, Portugal's song this year with minor tweaks wouldn't have felt out of place in the Greek market.
But I agree that national finals would be the best avenue to discover new artists that can be bring smith extra. Croatia and Serbia are smaller countries, with their mainstream music presumably being not that different from Greece, yet they have sent BL and Konstrakta through national finals.

...only that they didn't?Greece placing in the top 10 is one of the best possible outcomes of this ESC season.

If you feel a need to point that out because of the flag I have in my avatar to tease me, sorry it doesn't work as it's not my responsibility neither to I care.Id worry more about the german representative stating in an interview that he'd like Russia back in the contest. Not a good look. I can find that behavior coming from a 29 year old person off-putting. He should know better.

However, seems that you guys in this thread are perfectly aligning with her behavior, so: all good.
This is a discussion board where I can comment on what I've witnessed in the contest. You don't need to support my opinion but you also don't need to tell me where I have to comment and where I don't have to.Ιm not seeing you in the German thread complaining about his behavior, Marina's yawning is your biggest problem when it comes to contestants being problematic?

Greek government spokesperson not so happy with Marina's yawn. He said: "Fortunately no countries express their foreign policy through Eurovision. However, when someone represents a country even in a music contest, they travel with taxpayers' money and they need to watch their behavior and attitude. Eurovision's target is to unite people through music".

Who exactly does ERT expect her to apologize to? To KAN, who caused problems for almost half of the broadcasters? And ERT hasn't support her as much as they should which forced her to somewhat had to apologize after what happened in the press conference, while she shouldn't imo.
This is exactly the mindset that the far-right people you mentioned want you to have. As a Turk, I loved Marina and her stance during this entire sh*tshow. Right now I’m listening to the song “MIXTAPE” from her new EP - Greek reggaeton that I didn’t know I needed before. Marina also loves her fans, no matter where they come from. I think that’s all that matters. However statements like ''Greek people love Turkey'' maybe are nice to say but are not shared by everyone. They sound naive at least. I mean we are not Russia - Ukraine case obviously but the situation isn't as wonderful as some imagine it to be.
