Really cant understand why someone its trying to explain the song. If you came at Greek thread you will read at least 100 times that Zeimpekiko. If this song is "Zeimpekiko" then I (or We) dont like Zeimpekiko and also dont like this song.

I have nothing against the song. It's original (for Eurovision), quirky (for Eurovision) and he actually sings quite well (especially for Eurovision). I have everything against the "rapper", though.

@VedatiNet : What to do when they call it as a pop song, or even compare it to FYR Macedonian entry of last year?

By the way, this is one of my favourite zeibeikiko songs ever:

Zeibeikiko dance in Greece is considered as something holy! I remember when someone went to Greece's Got Talent and tried to do a zeibekiko dance combined with hip hop and break dance, the judges almost sent him for execution!

For those who are interested, here's a lesson "how to dance zeibekiko"!

My dear,
when you participate to a thread you DISCUSS!!!
So, I really cant understand why someone is so bothered because we explain the song and its "spirit"...

None of us said "It's a zeimpekiko, so U MUST like it". :p
In that case you would be right to be bothered!!!

We are JUST explaining OUR song to the thread dedicated to OUR entry...;)

And as far as I have read the posts, none of us argued with any of the forum members that claim that don't like the song!
We know that this type of music is quite strange for U... So, most of the people that R not familiar with this music either will love it  (because it is sth different) or will hate it!

Please, feel free to have your own opinion (that you don't like the song) and post it, but let us also express ourselves concerning the song, especially to THIS thread, which is about THIS song…

Thank you very much in advance…

P.S.: Also have in mind that the song title is "watch my DANCE", so why not to say few more things about the zeimpekiko dance?
Especially since the chorographer completely spoiled the zeimpekiko!!!

body in Bulgaria, heart in Greece (^_^)
thank you, it's the same for me. the rap part kills all the song.

as Macedonia last year.

No, the macedonian song last year was tragedic even without the rapper. The lyrics were awesommly stupid and the show they put on stage was extremly cheap. It`s not th same with the greek song this year, because the greek song has some class and actually something native in it, which the macedonian song didn`t have last year ;)

On the contrast to last year's FYROM entry, the lyrics of "watch my dance" are very powerfull.
Both the English (rap) part as well as the Greek (chorus) part...

I was born so betrayed,
who am I - what I’ll be?
What is mine in this life?
Just the heaven and sea
No I won’t give them up,
they’re my fortune, my proof
Don’t believe what you hear,
cause their truth kills your truth!

The duty I’ve got, is my war against fear
and I want you with me, yes, I want you so near
Watch my dance "Head up high, Hands like wings" and I’ll fly
Το κεφάλι ψηλά και τα χέρια ανοιχτά!
(My head stands high and my arms open)

Την έχει η ψυχή μου τη φωτιά
My soul has the fire
τους φόβους όλους καίει μοναδικά.
It burns all fears in a unique way
Tα βήματά μου κάνω ως το Θεό
I step towards the God
κι αν πέσω εγώ ξανά θα σηκωθώ
and even if I fall, I will stand up again

I 've heard many words
but I still won’t forget
the language of my body
the sound my heart wings
So I’m staying alive
and my losses won’t let,
my soul to surrender,
the power of loss is my bet

Watch my dance "Head up high, Hands like wings" and I’ll fly
Το κεφάλι ψηλά και τα χέρια ανοιχτά!
(My head stands high and my arms open)

Την έχει η ψυχή μου τη φωτιά
My soul has the fire
τους φόβους όλους καίει μοναδικά.
It burns all fears in a unique way
Tα βήματά μου κάνω ως το Θεό
I step towards the God
κι αν πέσω εγώ ξανά θα σηκωθώ
and even if I fall, I will stand up again

Beautiful lyrics, so powerfull... They create so many emotions.
No mater what most people think, to me this is the best and most decent greek entry since Helena in 2005. Enough with the crapy entries (especially those of 2007, 2009 and 2010). Go Greece!!!

The video of the songs presentation submitted by ERT, as the official videoclip for our entry...

It's a nice video (especially comparing with the song's presentation at our NF ) but it's quite weird to submit is as the official, since Loukas had mentioned that the team would prepare a new videoclip...

Did they change their mind?
Or the "song's" team will publish another video "unofficially" later on?
We'll see...

Beautiful lyrics, I was sure that it would be deep, because such a beautiful song simply cannot have meaningless words.
Thanks for the translation. :)

I think it's a powerfull song, unfortunantly the rap is mixing it up a bit too much for my taste,

the more i think about it, the more i tend to agree that indeed the rap part of our song should me limited ,and there should be new (additional ) lyrics for loukas

I don't mind the rap part, all i want is that they must represent it correctly!

u think that as extended as it is (taking quite big part of the song ) will help.....? of course the presentation is of OUTMOST importance, but i start hvng second thoughts abt how much of rap should hv......

^Believe me, if they have a great performance on stage, i would not think the rap part parts. Some like it, some not, i'm the one i like it and i will support it even if they add rock :p
