the more i think about it, the more i tend to agree that indeed the rap part of our song should me limited ,and there should be new (additional ) lyrics for loukas
u think that as extended as it is (taking quite big part of the song ) will help.....? of course the presentation is of OUTMOST importance, but i start hvng second thoughts abt how much of rap should hv......
I really hope the final version has more greek elements and less rap, because the rap really is the weakest part of the song.
While I would have prefered Nikki songwise this will have a much better stage performance then Nikki could have had.
The rap part absolutely destroys this song. Nikki Ponte was a better option by miles. 2 pts.
Well yeah, her song was as typical as it gets, but at least I could take it seriously. Whereas 'Watch my dance' has a distinctive beat with Greek elements which is great, but then the rap part makes it very hard to enjoy it.
Loukas was and is better than Nikki...! Nikki couldn't sing at all this song (because at ballads she is perfect), i sing better! I don't know what they will do with the rap part, maybe they will decrease it, maybe it will be the same, i don't know, we will see that in 1-2 weeks ;)

Guys,
the lyrics of the rap part of the song are indeed very strong and meaningfull.
I wouldn't mind to have "more Lucas", on the ontrast I love his voice and performance, but could the Greek lyrics that would replace the rap part make the non-Greek speakers get the point? x???

IMO the lyrics of watch my dance are the best we have sent the last years...

I was born so betrayed,
who am I - what I’ll be?
What is mine in this life?
Just the heaven and sea
No I won’t give them up,
they’re my fortune, my proof
Don’t believe what you hear,
cause their truth kills your truth!

The duty I’ve got, is my war against fear
and I want you with me, yes, I want you so near
Watch my dance "Head up high, Hands like wings" and I’ll fly
Το κεφάλι ψηλά και τα χέρια ανοιχτά!
.
.
.
I 've heard many words
but I still won’t forget
the language of my body
the sound my heart wings
So I’m staying alive
and my losses won’t let,
my soul to surrender,
the power of loss is my bet

Because the winners of the past years have clearly been based on lyrics. Well over half the viewers won't understand the lyrics.

hear hear!!! "i went everywhere for you, i even did my hair for you, i bought new underwear they're blue, and i wore it just the other day"

hmm...winning song, :) winning lyrics :(

nikki ponte: i dont wanna dance, dance alone....forget about the days, they're gone so long....

this is the song sent by greece, not nikki ponte, i wish people would get over that fact

The fact that most of (if not all) the times, people do not pay attention to the lyrics (GO, GO, GO wild dances!!!:p) shouldn't devote the fact that there are also entries with nice lyrics at this contest.
This year, our song is one of those entries... It may be not kathy... It may be not potential winner... It may be weird for many of you...
But it indeed is a different song with very strong lyrics...

Greece cannot win- think what would happen otherwise:
Greece government would go bankrupt if they have to organize ESC'2012 because of the budget deficite.
And no one would pay for the enterance because they have a movement called: "we shall not pay"...

At least Portugal chose a non-winning song :D

we want to be optimistic ;)

in any case, (unfo) seems there are QUITE A FEW countries that for same reasons wouldnt be able to spend lots of money for organising next year s event...so, we re not alone!!!

Noone said that Greece will win this year! LOL
And except from that, in case of winning, ERT will be able to give money...(the host country does not give the whole amount for the organization ;) )

what i also see is that quite a few people after the first hearing, tend to change their mind abt our entry (in a positive way i mean) as the song starts growing on them...the thing is ,what will happen on the night of the semi and (hopefully ) of the final,as there are tens of thousands of people who do not follow the contest like we do,but only watch /hear the songs on those specific days...so,imo, our entry s big bet should be how to 'attract' this audience and make them get hooked on the song from the first hearing!!that s why as i hv said -and actually most of us hv commented- it is of OUTMOST importance a very good/greek presentation and stage performance

A disappointing choice from Greece, but I think it is not as bad as some say. However I can't see Greece in the final this year... Unless "being Greece" is enough to achieve that. 26th in my list.

Or, as I've just posted in the German topic, bring Jimmy Jumper to go on stage while the song is performed, in order to have a second presentation of the song in the end! People will like it more in the second time! Hehe!
