I am cautiously optimistic. Never have been a true Raab-Fan, but it is a change and hopefully a fresh one. I am excited to hear what kind of news we will be getting tomorrow. I am HOPING that Raab knows what he is doing!

The NF will be called: "Chefsache ESC - Wer singt für Deutschland?
There will be 4 liveshows. In the first 3 shows the juries will decide who qualifies for the finals.
In the final it will be 100% televoting.
Stefan Raab just said he wants to win this year.

This sounds like artists that will take part will mostly be talent show singers...

If not, the format is very unattractive for the big names.

Well, the previous Raab-produced attempts also worked with talents instead of established singers. So I wasn't expecting anything else.

Good format. I guess it will be 2-3 qualifiers from every show and possibly a televoters wildcard, making it around 7-10 finalists, which would be ideal.
I really hope we will not see many casting show rejects due to people also being allowed to apply without a song but rather experienced acts that are waiting for their commercial breakthrough (this is only a slight hope though).
I don't feel I can judge RTL based on their recent output (except for the Traitors I stopped watching it since I was a teenager) so it's hard to say what to expect from their Liveshows but let's hope Barbara will be the only continuity (why for once not keep the "Unser Song" trademark?) and not her usual Rhabarberbar with useless panelists but I guess they gonna keep it with Raab having the most say.

Those were such different times tho imo.
The talent shows were having their peak, nowadays nobody cares about them anymore.
And esc as well has changed. This reeks of another generic pop song.

Hmmm, Raab did say everyone can apply (and explicitly included famous artists) but the whole format does sound more like a casting thing and less BuViSoCo. Especially when he said the first two shows might be just covers... Not too excited about that prospect to be honest. I mean that formula did work for him in the past with Max Mutzke, Roman Lob and obviously Lena, but his luck is bound to run out with that tbh LOL.

What I do like though, is that there's going to be a final with 9 acts. In the past he only wrote or bought like two or three songs for the few finalists, but it sounds like they're going to be at least 9 possible acts to choose from.

The first three shows with no televote seem kind of pointless though right? The more I think about it lol. I mean who's going to select the first 24 acts? Surely Raab, so why does he then need to cut down to 12 on TV. As if he hadn't already quite a few favorites at that point?

According to ESC kompakt, Raab's final words of the press conference were „Die big stars haben leider die Buchse voll.“ (the big names are too afraid).

So I guess maybe they already attempted to contact bigger names, and they know they won't come, not even for Raab... In that case, I guess there's just so much they can do lol.

I don't think the show will be as bad as that weird NDR casting show this year though. If it's on RTL and ARD primetime, I'm sure more people in general and also more talented people (no offense to Floryan ) will apply and be involved. These shows focused on newcomers are all about luck in the end. You can end up with a Lena or a Levina. It's not like someone like Nemo couldn't walk into a show like this, you just need to find a good song then. My main issue is that it doesn't actually revitilize the German national final at all. It gives it temporarily a bit more exposure but we're still on the same treadmill in a way.

I have mixed feelings also. Great that we have some shows, but as I understood there will be coversongs in the first two rounds (but am not too sure if I understood that correctly). And to me it sounds like too much influence by Raab in the first three rounds. And then in the finale 100% televoting? Is that good? I am rather disappointed because I doubt that bigger names will apply.
