Max was obvious to me as soon as he was announced. Maybe he was even the reason the application deadline was extended...
That's very likely IMO. He said flat out in Interviews that he had loosely considered returning to the ESC in 2024, then forgot, then asked the NDR later and got "yeah, songs need to be submitted in 3 days". While Forever strong is definitely awful enough to have been written completely in 2 days, I doubt he did.
Regarding the running order, it's... fine. Kind of similar principal to last year I think. Forever strong is a
horrible closing act because it's unbelieveably bland and just offensively bad - but Max got that pimp slot thanks to his name anyway. I'll admit I don't even get why he's so beloved as a singer. He's... fine, but something about his voice always sounds so strained to me. Isaak, Bodine & Ryk all have better voices, and from what I've seen they can all deliver live too. But whatever, many people love Max, so what can I do. But I really hope the others all deliver live, because I can see that kicking Max out of the jury top 3 (potentially Leona too, if she can really create a moment on stage). And then we have a chance he won't win even if he wins the televote.
