Where exactly?
"Ich klick auf "Standort teilen mit dir"" (I click on "share location with you")

"Dieses Liebestattoo
Da steht "Vanessa, für immer nur du"" (That love tattoo; There it says "Vanessa, forever just you")

"Denn du hast gesagt, dein Herz wäre frei" (Because you said your heart was free)

These are phrased so weirdly, typical "schlagerdeutsch" 😭
It's not poetic it's just weird. "Standort teilen mit dir" who talks like that? And what is a "Liebestattoo"? A love bite? With text?

The lyrics aren't poetic, imo but they aren't "dumb" either.

A "Liebestattoo" is a tattoo standing for loving another person. Many people get tattoos which are just the names of the ones they love (partners or children).

I don't get why "Standort teilen mit dir" is labelled as strange either. It's grammatically correct. I had to eye-roll a bit because I think it's weird to have love songs in this decade but it's not uncommon to sing about likes, clicks and online or mobile phone features.

I've never heard anyone ever really call that "Liebestattoo", it's just a tattoo. Very schlagerdeutsch to slap "Liebe" onto a word with a lot of threatrics in the voice to really oversell it. But it just comes off as forced.

"Standort teilen mit dir" is not really proper german. You can say it like that but it sounds like Yoda to me. "Meinen Standort teilen mit dir ich werde, Obi-wan".
Also it's in quotations in the song, so she implies there's literally a button called "Standort teilen mit dir" and that doesn't make any sense, that's not how buttons are worded. It would also suggest she's sharing her location with herself 😭 And as you say it's really an eye-roll moment because there was no need to randomly insert mentions of computers and buttons and it's especially silly when it's just worded this poorly.

Absolutely loved your post! ♡

It's a song, though and that's totally fine.
"Standort teilen mit dir" or "In den Urlaub fahren mit dir" is fine - I don't think there's a much different regarding the syntax in songs. It's just using the infinitive - it happens in songs from time to time.
If I think about it, the language is indeed slightly "poetic"... so the initial post was right about it xD

The German language comes up with compound nouns to create new words very often. That's very natural.

BTW, Helene Fischer sang about a "Liebestattoo" in "Atemlos durch die Nacht" and Daniela Alfinito even released a song titled "Liebes-Tattoo" as well. That symbol isn't uncommon in German songs ;)

You mean the singer who always releases her album at the beginning of the year when almost no records are sold so she enters at first place in the charts only to drop about thirty places the week after??

I don't know her.
I'm just advocating that compound nouns as "Liebestattoo" are part of the German language and used in everyday language and therefore, "Naiv" is totally fine.
It's not a masterpiece but most Schlager songs or even Eurovision entries aren't mesmerising pieces of art regarding their Songwriting

Ryk is a slightly better version of Ochman, but still basically three minutes of shameless vocal masturbation. Much prefer the verses to the chorus. Would be the first decently listenable entry since Schulte though! :)

Ochman was just... corny and very by the rules and I am saying this as a Pole, but then again, I haven't liked anything we've sent in the last 10 years. Ryk is very eclectic and quite experimental - I mean, we're talking about Germany here. I can see it finishing top 10 in the Grand Final. This is truly the only option.

That's how it looks like on eurovisionworld right now:

Eurovision-World-Poll-Das-deutsche-Finale-2024-Deutschland-240120.png
More than ever, Germany, Ryk is your only option.
That's not the best Ryk song, clearly (see below):

I've missed some episodes, but I'm obviously excited for two (and only two) acts: "ICH KÜNDIGE" (and Grossstadtgeflüster latest track "Huckepack" is really good too - and 2:56 long)... and Ryk. His "Polar" EP obsessed me in 2018 and "You and I" could have won Eurovision in 2018 - and if I well remember, Conchita Wurst thought the same. "Oh Boy" is a good track, but not as amazing as "You and I", "Seas" or "Diamonds". So, hoping he's got something else!
But it can reach an interesting mid-table placement in Malmo – and that would be a very good thing for my lovely German neighbours.
Which result? It may end like an Alika situation: juries will enjoy this if it's not staged too awfully (this is basically what killed Ochman's choices to reach a top 5/10 in 2022), public... not sure. But I still think "You and I" could have been a contender for the win in Lisbon even if, obviously, Michael Schulte looked like the safest choice. If the staging is mesmerizing (and I believe it can be, "You and I" was interesting), you can reach top 10. Maybe more!

Oh, the other songs? PLEASE NO. I love cats, I sometimes define myself as a kitten, but "Katze", hell no. Max Mutzke? You should have lost to Scooter twenty years ago and your new song is abysmal. Schlager? Sorry, I prefer Finndisco, it's definitely better done. And the rest, yawns.

Conchita Wurst writes on Ryk's instagram: „ryk!!!! Diese Lied!!!! You are out of this world“

And Ryk writes:

Finally, I can share the news I had to keep for myself for weeks. I’m very excited to throw my ring back into the hat - German Melodifestivalen here I come!
I love Eurovision. It’s as simple as that. Eurovision is queer and camp and so am I. I love and share the values of Eurovision and for me personally, this very unique universe is the dream world I would love to live in forever. I grew up watching Eurovision stars living their wildest dreams and I still have this very same dream to stand on that stage for once in my life.
‚Oh Boy‘ is my song for the German national final and I can’t wait to share what we’ve created on the 16th of February LIVE on @ard

Conchita already thought Ryk could win Eurovision in 2018 with 'You & I". Definitely speaking the truth.

"You & I" was my favorite song back then already. But I would say that I actually prefer "My boy" to this. Great arrangement, and if staged right, it could give us a very emotional moment at ESC. But I fear our German public who might rather vote for Marie Reim and Max Mutzke who are more famous but have simply boring songs.
