Those are not bad ratings. The market share was over 10%. It's good for that time slot (which is way too late). And you can't really compare it to last year. Last year it was much earlier + they aired the national final on all stations. This year it was only ARD + One and I think the ratings from One are not even included in this but I'm not sure. The show this year was good. But it was the first good show in years and after many bottom 5 entries so I'm not surprised that it's not a mega hit. They have to rebuilt the interest and this year was the first step.

To be fair: how should people, who are usually not too deep in the metal scene and even might be non-German, know which bands are out there for comparison? They only know mostly Rammstein, maybe Die Toten Hosen or Die Ärzte, probably Scorpions or Blind Guardian…

Yes, Rammstein is completely different to LOTL, but I see why people compare them for reference.

No suprise with the odds. I must say that I hate this shit because you can see how much it even influences the juries. To me thats not fair. And Germany always geht's ranked down with odds, no suprises here. It went the same with Michael Schulte.

Now I have a question. Who's gonna get last place? Clearly not one of the big 5 (unless :uk: has a bad entry).

I´m not really educated about metal either (Rammstein I´m familiar with cause I listened to almost all of their discography).

The thing is I generally have this mentality where if I´m not sure if a reference is correct, I prefer to leave it out. xshrug
(feel free to correct me about something if I fail in doing so :giggle:)

I´m not policing anybody´s way of writing comments though. They can do what they like.

From the televote?

As all semifinalists will get to the Grand Final by strong support of televote, ZERO candidates can only be Big 5.

TBH, among them, unless UK flops, Italy is a ZERO for me this year.

I think it will be France. I know that our entry is quite liked, but I don't think it will be enough for people to vote for it.
