It’s different for Germany but I don’t like it. It reminds me of a Berlin BDSM club soundtrack where everyone is on drugs and doesn’t care about STD’s. The lyrics go in this direction for me. Something Rammstein would have rejected 25 years ago.

My sister, who wasn’t happy with our choice, complained about the lyrics too.
They are actually beautiful, but it’s hard to get behind it in three minutes. I‘m not happy with the line "we could die" either because it could be misinterpreted. I get your point.

But the comparison to Rammstein… I read that a few times now. Rammstein was never the same music style, even not decades ago. This is something they would not only have rejected - they wouldn’t have even bothered to listen to.

Blood & Glitter is suited to Eurovision. It’s not the band‘s best song but still a song I love very much. And the quiet part with only the piano is the best part in a song of all songs this year we have so far.

Well, disaster averted, but I'm afraid I'm not the biggest fan of this song either. It's a competent song for its genre, don't get me wrong, but nothing about "Blood and Glitter" gets me excited in any way or form. I hope Patty Gurdy tries again next year, I'm really craving a folk-pop entry like hers from Germany one day.

:6: points for now

René Miller congratulated them on their Instagram and wrote they deserved it and they will get the trophy in Liverpool. He‘s such a fair sportsman!

LOTL wrote a beautiful statement on their IG too, thanking all the artists with big respect and wrote they had such a great time together singing and performing with them and that they are United By Music!

This is like telling an AI to make a rock song after making it listen to the 2007 songs

It's too early to look at the odds and sorry but some of these song that are above Germany may not even qualify for the final, lol. So far the reactions have been positive. And Blood & Glitter is one of the better songs in this year.
I disagree! I find initial reaction to a song release/selection pretty telling and you'd expect at least a little odds movement or sign of buzz after it gets picked, at least if you aim for a good result. Of course it doesn't say much about whether it makes 16th or 22nd or 25th place though.

It's actually funny to see people saying it's gonna do super well. It ranked 5th out of 9 with the international juries. Good luck with that

Lol, the sensitive Swedes with their AI generated preselection flaming other countries’ songs

We‘re not that disillusional to believe juries would not tank this in May.

We even didn’t claim we will do super well. LOTL even wrote they might not be the best band but they have the best fans! ;)

LOTL has some fans around the globe and I‘m sure they are all making them vote. It might not have the same impact as the Lordi fans back in 2006 but it might be enough to kick us out of the bottom.

Don’t worry, Queen Loreen is not in danger!

TV ratings yesterday: 2 Million people watched, which is worse than last year. Might be because of the late airing time.

Honestly, I didn’t expect the NF to have that many viewers at all since the semis usually only have 500.-700.000! Last year we had more viewers with that line-up??? Crazy!

Why aren't I surprised. ''No one has anything against Sweden!'' well I can't say anything in any thread without having Sweden mentioned. This is why Escunited has gotten so shit and ESC reddit is the better community

What's wrong with people calling this "Rammstein like" or comparing it to Electro Callboy. Have they ever heard or seen Rammstein or EC? I lost a brain cell with these comments honestly. 🤣

This is Modern Talking met heavy metal band and they dueted on a cross-over song.

It's 80's synth rock/metal in its most melodic fashion. It's super catchy and accessible for general masses.

E.g. Maneskin was accessible to general audience. Hatari was not.

This is by no means like Rammstein or EC which people essentially can listen to only after they had had a personal history or experience listening to different alternative genres so when they first heared Rammstein or EC, they could have understood what these bands had made out of their music.

We have nothing against Loreen nor Sweden as a country nor Swedish people whom I personally love as I have friends there that I visit every year.

We do have something against a real turd-show of Netherlands with non-existent song to be 11th on the ESC app ranking.

And we do owe that to the undue influence that Swedish music producers have exerted on Eurovision community for decades and specific sound that they want impose onto the juries as a standard of quality or whatever.

And that, yeah, people who search for more variety in music and fair treatment of all genres at the ESC, do hate.

And we are tired of that turd-show of Swedish production.

The general audience revolt against it is quite evident when you see Trenetul's, Konstrakta's, GoA's, Blind Channel's televote pts from past 2 years.

And the abolishment of professional juries in the semis. Was Eurovision a better place last 2 years when jury wanked entries with Swedish signature and production went to the Grand Final only to be publicly announced there that they recieved 3 or 15 or 25 pts from the public?

No! It was an embarrasament for EBU!

So what problem do you have with the fact that we are discussing that? Far away from the thread "Sweden 2023"?

So, then, let's appreciate their fan service.

I don't think that I will vote for it in May, but I enjoy the song and I 'm always pleased when a song is chosen by the public. (Last year I was so happy to have a song I love representing my own country.) To me, it' s nice to have a rock song from Germany, a country well known for its rick scene.

Unfortunately, we have a lot of bands this year, so it will be more difficult to stand out in the line up (I know that it's not the same genre, but I think it could ve tricky in the GF - or maybe not, who knows, lol.) It's a :10: for me, around my 5th position.
