I wonder if and how much showing the Ukrainian and Polish flags (their roots) when they were introduced might have helped this band win the NF.

Hopefully they won't bring them with them to Copenhagen.

Or actually: it should just be forbidden that if you have another descent than the country you're representing, to make it public it the way they did. People just love to diaspora-vote.

The song is kind of boring, but everyone is entitled to his own opinion...
The way it was chosen, however, is all sorts of wrong. Germany has managed to attract some big names, but all the work done in recent years may be ruined by the mob's awful behavior. It was distasteful, especially towards a gentleman like Der Graf. The televoters didn't act well either. You may have your preferences, but if you campaign against someone (without caring much who you actually vote for), it's is disrespectful to BOTH competitors. And harmful to Germany and to the contest in general.

Germany's odds went from 20 up to 100 after the NF.

But what flags will the Azeris wave in the green room now :?? you don't expect them to wave their own flag, do you?

Yeah, Elaiza just won because everyone voted against Unheilig. Nobody in Germany likes "Is It Right" and nobody would ever buy it or even listen to it.

iTunes - Germany
#01 Elaiza - Is It Right
#29 Unheilig - Wir sind alle wie eins

so obvious

Das Gezeichnete Ich should have sung "Echo" instead in the first round, after listening properly to all entries that was the best one, plus it was in German but far stronger than the Unheilig entries.

I have no worries about that. They even came back after the horrible result of Malmö.
Listen, they are all professional and they all know that only one song can win this thing. Most of the "big names" don't even want to win - they just want a bit of free promotion.

To those who say Elaiza only won because of a campaign against Unheilig are just wrong and this is also a bit childish, sorry. For me, "Is it right" wasn't the beste song either but let's face it ... they were on point at the moment of truth and delivered a strong performance while most of the favorites weren't that great.

Having a glottal stop is one thing, but at the very start of the live performance, the majority of the time there wasn't any hint of that, which made it sound like she was just singing "Is it rye?" all the time. I enjoyed the song, but that really irritated me. :p

but he can't sing..

That I'm clueless about, I listened to the studio version and it sounded alright to me... I'm not THAT picky with vocals (as long as they're good enough) because this is a song contest first and foremost and not The Voice... xshrug

The song reached place 105 in the Worldwide iTunes Charts and place 63 in the European iTunes Charts! xyaay

For just a little sing along song an impressive position.

Let the hype begin! :D

(Until it reaches bottom 5 in the final ;) )

Since Thursday I had an imense earworm from our song. I think this is a good sign for a competition with 25 other songs. "Is it right or is it wrong
I can't go on you can't go on, if you say yes or even no, you don’t know how and where to go" xsing

It would be good to have a german song that did not come out from the surrounding of Stefan Raab and still gets a good result in Eurovision. I really liked all of Stefans protégés but to ensure diversity, a success from somebody else would do the Germans good. So I cross my fingers for them!

But you agree that live performance can ruin even a genius song? Remember "Tirpini" and "VIS"?
It does matter.
