I liked the song but the singer...She looks like a hipster and her voice is annoying to me,i don't root for ''oh hey i'm half Ukrainian half Polish so they can't call me nazi'' attitude either.I'm sure there are lots of Eastern Europeans in Germany,i'm sure it's common.

And what happened with Unheilig? Did they booed Der Graf for saying ''i want to sing in Eurovision in my mother tounge'' in postcard?(My German is very bad but i understood some bits, still needing an explanation though)

I love Germans, but they're really hard to understand.German press once called Rammstein members nazi because the singer makes the ''R'' sound, just like Adolf Hitler did.And people really believed it so the band made a song that says ''heart beats on the left side.'' German people are senseful usually, but they can be really paranoid.

I've just watched the performance and it's just painful to hear, in a similar level to Krassimir Avramov or Anastasiya Vinnikova xfacepalm

I'm probably changing the 4 points I gave for less...

I can understand what you mean, but thanks god, not all German are handling in such way. For me, the song is ok, but I would never send this song to Copenhagen. I couldn´t understand this hype last week about this song. And I was really angry about these people, who booed while Unheilig was singing. These are really stupid people. I think, it wasn´t the reason because he said, that he wants to sing in his mother tongue, the only reason was, that they wanted see winning the underdog. And of course, Unheilig has many "haters" here in Germany because he sings Schlagersongs nowadays and no longer dark music like he did in the past. And the German press is very strange in some parts. They want to be stuffy but they forget, that´s not always the right way.

I never thought I would love the accordion as an instrument like I do now. Without any doubt, this is one of the best German entries ever and one of the better entries this year :). The unplugged version, which they've played on the radio station N-Joy, sounds amazing: "Is it right (unplugged)".

Oh and here is some more information/news:

  • They won with 55% of the public vote.
  • Elaiza will perform "Is It Right" on Echo (music award show) on Mar. 27.
  • Their debut album "Gallery" is set to be released on May 9.

and for those who like them, their song "Without" xheart:

Yep...but she also had big technical problems with her In-ears at the NF :(
Stage fright + technical problems + first big gig + one of the big favourites at the NF...maybe it was a bit to early in her career and to much pressure :/

Her statement one day after the NF:

BTW: Ornella De Santis also is a big fan of Maddy and encouraged her after the National Final :)

What's the gist of her message?

What's the gist of her message?

She is basically thanking everybody for the support and she admits that she still has to calm her nerves (her eyes are still puffy). She also says that the fault lies with her, she couldn't hear herself right (problems with the in-ear) and afterwards she described her performance as terrible ('grot'). She sang 'Like Lovers Do' because it was her favorite song, whereas everybody else basically expected her to sing 'Error'. She herself thought it was a bit overconfident to assume to be able to sing both songs. She cried afterwards because she thinks she has disappointed a lot of people but she wholeheartedly apologizes. Things simply were not to be. But maybe, she says, it's a good thing as she might have been declared as the girl that looks a little like Lena, is 18 herself and also sang at the esc.
But in the end she just wanted to thank everybody who has supported her, despite her *sh*tty* performance. Now she's looking forward to her tour and wants to continue on to proof that she is more than a 'Depp' (dork) who can't sing due to stage fright.
;)
All in all, very sweet.
