Each artist has TWO songsxheat

I actually don't know how the votes will work yet. I'm hoping that whichever song you phone up and vote for counts for 1 vote to the artist and that they combine votes from both songs to pick their winner.

Hmmmm hold on, so each of them is going to sing two songs in the final? As far as i remember there's no semi whatsoever.
Sooo the winner will be determined by the overall number of votes and how is an artist supposed to decide which song is going to the ESC?
Or is it like that: an artist with the most votes wins and then they look at which song of this artist received more points to define an entry?

Kill me!

Good questions, I also wonder how they'll work this out? I mean will the song with most votes simply win fair and square?, or will they have some sort of super-final where the best placed song by each act will qualify to and then vote again? xshrug

So there's a chance that they will never get to perform their second song if they are voted out after the first round? That sucks majorly - especially if their "second song" is the better of the two. Weird structure of the NF IMO...

That's a pretty **** format, I don't know why an artist would put preference over one of their songs....and fans will be split on the artist's two songs so it's likely a worse act will win. What are you playing at Germany?

Indeed a crappy format xshrug

Does this mean that the songs performed in the first phase can't even be picked? xshrug

I mean that's effed up because then all the acts will use their "worst" entries in the first phase, of course risking to be voted out by doing so, and never get the chance to perform their second entry (which could be much better)... and if they use their stronger entries first it can't be used in the second phase? :? xshrug

Nah I believe the qualifying acts will have both of their songs available in the voting

It seems pointless having two entries per act... unless some of the bigger artists like Unheilig wanted it to make it worth their while...promo if you will?

Gosh "Candy Jar" is beyond stunning! What a sophisticated piece of synth pop.

This National Final will be disgustingly good. I can't bare to lose half of these songs:(

I love the songs, but I'm hoping that the format doesn't screw my favourites over. I'm particularly worried for Santiano, my big favourite - by the sounds of things, you need two strong songs to get through to the end, and while I love Fiddler on the Deck and believe it can do well, I have less confidence in Niemals Untergehen.

I'm looking forward to watching this NF regardless of the weird system, I'm glad it's on a Thursday when I have no plans ever :D It'll probably be better than Eurovision itself

My Prediction for the German Final: Unheilig, Oceana, Madeline Juno and Santiano. Will Fail to qualify: Das gezeichnete Ich, Elaiza, The Baseballs and hopefully Mariemarie (I truely hate her songs, but that's just my opinion)

I agree on Unheilig, Oceana and Madeline Juno.
I guess in the end it's gonna be a typical german decesion -We only vote for someone we know-
The "crown" will most likely go to Unheilig :D

I don't think that Oceana qualifies for Round 2 Her songs are too boring

I think Madeline, Santiano and unheilig qualify. The 4th place goes to Das Gezeichnete Ich or The Baseballs.

Out if the last 8 songs, I think 2 of these will qualify for the 3rd round:

Als wärs das erste Mal
Fiddler on the deck
