Re: GEORGIA 2019 - Oto Nemsadze - Sul Tsin Iare

That's a very pleasing studio version for my ears. Considering how much I love the live performance of it which I've had to feed off alone for a few weeks, there's no drastic changes, and everything that's been added only enhances the atmosphere and power of it. They've strengthened the ethnic elements a bit which is just what I wanted. It sounds like it's Mikheil Javakhishvili from Iriao leading the backing vocalists again like in the NF, which is awesome! This entry is tremendous as it ever was for me, and I hope now that more people get on board with it. I think at the moment it's quite possibly the most underrated Eurovision entry ever. The poll above still makes me want to channel my inner Judge Judy and send some people to jail, or at least shout at them for a bit. This Georgian entry I think is so mysterious, deep and powerful. I follow the contest each year in the hope of coming across songs that reach me in the way Sul Tsin lare does.

Also, fashion king of 2019.

Not only this entry, Georgia in previous few years is extremely underrated ESC country!
EXTREMELY!

Especially if we take Caucasus counrtries in consideration, I can openly say it is criminally underrated comparing to Azerbaijan and Armenia which come as overrated in few occasions TBH! xshrug

This entry makes me want to visit Georgia! xlove xheart

Mrm Georgia are extremely underrated as a Eurovision country. In some cases I can understand why. For sure songs like Three Minutes To Earth and Midnight Gold aren't for everyone. Entries like that though show precisely what I like about Georgia as a Eurovision country. They are never afraid to experiment and take risks, so much so that I can forgive them a for an uninspired Waterfall here and there. Even an entry like Warrior which I wasn't particularly keen on I have to respect for being so bold. Over the past few years they've easily blossomed into one of my favourite Eurovision countries, even if it's sad to see their songs not picking up the love I think they so often deserve. This year has been painful to witness as Oto's song doesn't even strike me as something that would garner strong disdain, and I think he performs his entry with more conviction than anyone else has shown so far for 2019.

You are so right everything you wrote! xbow

I wish at least he qualifies like Kasia Mos did in 2017!

Some elements of this entry reminds me of Poland 2017! xlove xheart

Just compare compositions and you will get it.. :)

I see it in the compositions, but Kasia had a touch of trouble translating (note that I did not say "singing") her song to the live Eurovision stage. Something tells me Oto will have no such trouble xlove

I know, right? I can get how it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but there's so much hate going around for it, so many people putting it in last place, so many 0s in the poll... and I'm just not quite sure where it all comes from. What is there in the song that inspires such strong negative feelings, as opposed to a regular old "eh, I'm not feeling it"?

I'm not backing it quite as hard as some of the other people here (it's just barely outside my top 10 at the moment; could scrape its way in there depending on my mood), but it's a unique, emotional song, in national language, with a strong performance. I'd love to see Oto pull off the surprise qualification of the year, even if I really don't expect it.

The reaction to it really is baffling. You'd think it was Leto Svet or something. For sure it's not for everyone, but seeing Georgia hovering next to Montenegro and Croatia in polls and fan ratings etc feels unjust. In this year of beige aplenty, Georgia is at least sticking its neck out and doing its own thing (extremely well in my opinion).

Had Ukraine not have dropped out I think Georgia would be in a much stronger position for a surprise qualification. At the same time though with Ukraine gone an extra space is now up for grabs. I don't see qualification being an impossibility for Georgia as many seem to feel. We know Oto can sing the absolute hell out of his song, and it's a unique composition. I'm not going to get my hopes up but it's not game over until the final flag is revealed on Eurovision semi 1 night. With the right staging and atmosphere delivered, this entry could absolutely put up a fight.

This song has been getting closer and closer to my top 10 every time I listen to it and after hearing that studio version it might just sneak into it
I just upgraded my poll result to a 10

I love this track. The studio version sounds really good to me. I don't think it will qualify but it's seriously one of my biggest wishes, Eurovision 2019-wise.

Georgia could definitely be a surprise qualifier. The song has a great build up and Oto sings it with such emotion and passion (Bushpepa 2019?). And I find him somehow fascinating to look at.

It's one of those songs you don't give much attention to and after the semi you have it on repeat.

Update from 7 to 10 points.

Wtf dude.
Such a way to promote a song.

"The song you're trying to listen is unavailable in your country" XD

Is it just me or he looks like Georgian Ramsay Bolton?

Tumblr, mostly.
Translating the title makes sense though. Not a lot of people speak Georgian and the song itself is a bit too esotheric in structure to clearly convey what it's about. Translating the title definitely helps in connecting with the audience.

Not to mention that "Keep on going" has legs on its own, unlike "For you".
