Re: GEORGIA 2014

Aruba maybe, but the rest... no. I finally realized when i saw Australia (New South Wales).

New South Wales is definitely not a good choice for a name :D
But i like Armenia, it's not worse than Azalia, or Amalia, or Ofelia. There was a big fuzz when one couple named their son Tagil (it's a city), though there are names like Tamir and Tahir. there's actually no big difference)

I guess its not as bad as Taluluah does the Hula in Hawaii (which is actually the name someone gave their daughter in New Zealand).

Re: GEORGIA 2014

Have Georgia only sent 2 acts that have not been called (or had a member called) Sopho? haha

Re: GEORGIA 2014

Obviously Sopho was the most popular name 20-30 years ago. Now, half of the Georgian girls in JESC are called Mariam. Wait a few years, and the Mariams will begin their invasion of Eurovision.

They already invaded jESC, there's been two solo Mariams there already and I think each of those kids' groups Georgia sent had atleast one Mariam

Re: GEORGIA 2014

Seems like a great choice for Georgia!
I guess we can finally expect something interesting with ethnic influences, and not a standard ballad by Swedish composers like last year

Re: GEORGIA 2014

Hmm, seems like she's some sort of Jazz singer... RainyWoods will be pleased by that fact ... and The Shin seem to be some sort of ethnic/folky/jazzy group... this could eventually be interesting...

Jazz is not really my type of music, but the combo with ethno could be interesting. The Shin seem promising, I hope we'll get a folky/jazzy entry in Georgian then, if that's so this could very well be Georgia's best entry since 2007...

Re: GEORGIA 2014

It will be interesting to see something jazz from Georgia...it is a kind of music that we rarely have in ESC
But we always have something good from Georgia(except 2012)

Good luck :ge:

Re: GEORGIA 2014

I found this. It's Mariko, and she's singing in Spanish. :D The song is boring, but it's symbolic for me...

Here, with Sopho Khalvashi:

It's really promising for me, I just hope it won't be mess..vocal is good and the type I like, not tiny female vocal.. :)

Last year, I was so expected with FYR Macedonia, but the result was precisely that, a mess, a total mess...

@ Iuris

I loved Esma & Vlatko, actually. :) To me it wasn't mess! :) Well Gypsy Balkan sound must be messy a bit.. :) It's different to Spanish Andalusian Gypsy a bit! :D :) I have a pic with Esma & Vlatko from Malmo, and I have been to their party.. :) It was AMAZING..
